The work load can be intensive at times.
I've had weeks where I put in upwards of 30-40 hours doing CPM **** (be it meetings for 6 hours + getting points together to send to CCP based on such meeting + getting feedback from the community (see especially recent revisions to RR charge time), working with people to get video's of bugs, defend my good untarnished name (lmao :P), helping shape spreadsheets and more.
You can be as passive and backseat as you wish, or you can be very assertive and involved.
CCP have been a wonder on many points to work with. And Snorri/Ben especially have just been very gracious in opening the floodgates.
When I first arrived on CPM1 I worried the most I'd be doing is chirping for legion news and helping set agenda's for hotfixes and gather feedback obviously and relay player concerns ex: "Hey ____ I've been getting lots of people recently (read: Aeon Amadi)* poking me about the ISD and wanting to see if dust is any closer to having such a thing. What do you think? What can we do to further this player agenda?"...etc etc you get the gist.
Instead it's very much a different process. Snorri posted I took the lead on the sidearm rebalancing. I was very grateful for the opportunity to participate in that process. I probably ****** up a lot of things and some of my suggestions weren't put in (magsec having 0 kick ADS..or ion pistol having the capacity to have 2-3 follow up shots after a charged shot like the scr) but almost universally I felt like Snorri valued my assertions and we had great communication about the various things both of us had in mind.
Since then it's only grown better.
in short, the workload is your choosing (unless they ask you for something...and then its kinda ****** if you just ignore them O_O)
I'm very optimistic, and I think you all will be as well.
I don't know what the community thinks of me. I've always had the most vocal of detractors (see my original "you joined the donut though you future Kane 2.0") but I do listen and I come with an open mind and i love playing devil's advocate and I love people who can argue assertively but not caustically about an issue.
Some people are...annoying..or just hilariously petty (see Attim "hey you're not listening to me" when I really am...or "hey you're from FA you just want _______ to be overpowered cause FA all uses _______go **** yourself"
What would I write?
Get back to you.
