Read this historic thread again. There are post by jenza aranda, Nova Knife, Heinrich Jagerblitzen, and Kain Supero, all expressing how not fun it is to be a CPM.
Now I want to know CPM1GÇÖs experience. Not looking for NDA stuff here. I want to hear your impressions of the job contrasted against what CPM0 was experiencing nearly a year ago. How is the work load? Are you having fun? Are you feeling optimistic or pessimistic? Do you think the Community likes you or hates you? What do you do, in a general sense, as CPM?
I suspect I know many of the answers, as I have been following what you guys are doing, but I think it would be a useful exercise to write it down for others to see. Although I expect your workload is still very heavy, you guys seem to be enjoying the experience a lot more than CPM0. I imagine this has a lot to do with what was happening behind the scenes then versus now.
I would particularly be interested in hearing IWS contrast his experience in his first term on CPM0 with his experience this term on CPM1.
I would also be interested to hear from any other members of CPM0, to hear how they feel about how the development of DUST has gone, and hear whether they feel more optimistic today than they did back in January.
Finally, CPM1 & CPM0, if you were to write an open letter to CPM2 candidates, what would you say?

Really, most of the effective point of the job is passing on important stuff from the community, and occasionally really having to drive home a point with CCP that they maybe don't prioritize on the same tier as players do. I think the fact that you are hated has a lot more to do with you continuously poking at pilots and Trolling than the job itself.
Although, truth to tell, I don't think you are actually hated. You are more like the nemesis from an Auston Powers movie.

It is a very highly respected office and no member of the CPM would ever tarnish the position by lowering themselves to such behavior as trolling. Were you able to type this with a straight face?

Zatara, since I mostly stay out of the War Room I did not know anything about you until you ran for CPM. I actually added you to my top 7 voting list based on your detractors. If your critics prove themselves to be complete idiots, then you must be good right?

Thanks for the response jenza. I think the primary intent of your post back then was successful. We ended up with a new Council who, for the most part, expected hard work and long hours.
This thread was more alluding to the underlying tone in your posts. It is interesting to hear that it was the realignment of Team True Grit that was shadowing your statements. I knew you guys were dealing with something very disconcerting behind the scenes, but it is interesting to hear which event you were being effected by at that time.
I am betting you guys really did expect the worst for what CPM1 would have to face, after the term you had had to that point, and then seeing the one group at CCP that you had a functional relationship with being pulled away.
My point in posting this thread is to highlight the contrast between the dysfunction of the CPM/CCP relationship in CPM0GÇÖs term with how well it seems to be functioning now. I am certainly not blaming CPM0 for that dysfunction. Obviously the fact that CPM0 was signed on for 3 months with a specific mandate and then found both the mandate and term stretched beyond reason, meant that some of CPM0 was probably not prepared for what was asked of them, so that did cause some problems. But I think the main dysfunction in the relationship between CPM0 and CCP was that CCP Shanghai did not know how to make effective use of the CPM. While CPM1 was obviously better prepared for what they were getting into, I think that the progress that CPP Shanghai has made in integrating the CPM into the development process has a lot to do with the successful working relationship that has formed between CPM1 and CCP today.
I think CPM0 had a VERY hard term, and I believe that although it was difficult for CPM0 to be as effective as they would have liked, due to the circumstances they were operating in, they laid the groundwork and the foundation for what we have today. Without CPM0 we would not have CPM1.
