I just feels lazy and half done to me. Moreover without new models there is a very real limit to how imaginative CCP can be.
I mean the HMG really already is an AutoCannon for all intents and purposes.... yet there is no mention of artillery turrets (another unique Matari turret type) anywhere in Rattati's threads.
I'll admit I like the idea of the Laser Beam AV weapon God knows its about time another Anti Shield weapon hits the field...... but even with all these heavy weapons coming in the field of HAV and vehicles themselves is getting narrowed. The climate is already bad in some respects and will only get worse with the inclusion of MORE infantry based content and no meaningful vehicle rebalanced.
I've already outlined how Shield HAV are statistically (and are likely to continue to be) statistically better than armour HAV in almost every respect.
More EHP, better regen, better handling, better fitting capacity, better total DPS, etc.
Sure its fantastic that new AV content might be coming, sure I guess its fine that the models themselves will never be released and the assets will remain half finished but that irks me somewhat.
