I just specced this suit and boy, is it short of PG.
Even fitting an advanced HMG on a ck.0 is a struggle, you end up with standard sidearm and grenades and suboptimal modules. On the gk.0 I would fit a proto HMG and have enough left over for advanced/proto sidearm and grenade.
Perhaps the most galling thing is that if I give the ck.0 the same proto forge gun/advanced SMG/advanced grenade loadout as my gk.0 sentinel, I end up some 15 PG short - and that's with max core skills and level 5 fitting optimization! You basically HAVE to fit a PG upgrade to use a decent FG on a Caldari sentinel, in which case you have 500HP armour with only 1/HP regen.
Is this intentional? You'd think the Cal sentinel would be designed to use a FG, but if you try to do that you end up with a gimped fit. |

can you make your fit on protofits with all 5s? can you link it too for sake of debate/scrutiny

I don't understand mate I use an enhanced armour repairer 3 complex shield extenders and MH82 on the adv cal sent with no problem.
You should be able to fit. Boundless and 4 complex on a proto without a problem.
Then again you can fit 988 armour I don't have the last upgrade yet with boundless hmg on a standard amarr sentinel.
You can also change the eextenders for 3 complex damage mods instead.
The fitting limitations are fine but perhaps not your fitting.

Oh and can't fit a forge gun? My only av suit is proto breach forge with bolt pistol armour repair and 3 complex damage mods on the adv cal sent. The suit is fine.

I made the fit on protofits, I can't be arsed to make an account to share it but this is what it has:
3 complex damage mods complex shield extender Ishukone assault FG SK9M breach SMG EX-11 packed AV grenade Complex armour repairer
With all skills maxed this is:
388/410 CPU 72/58 PG
And even if you swap out the SMG and AV grenades for basic ones it still has nothing like enough PG:
363/410 CPU 68/58 PG

With cores maxed, u may still need forge/hmg fitting opt, also complex extenders will drain ur pg
I find I balance it by using an energizer, saves pg, as going regen on cal sentinel is a good play, also saving a bit of fit with basic flux nades on an hmg fit
My fit is generally
1 energizer, 2 dmg, and an armour repper/plate
U may still have trouble fitting, I found that the cal sentinel, commando and assault all needed fitting optimisation to reach their full potential
Core upgrades 5, pg/CPU 5, heavy weapons 5, explosives 5, fitting optimisations 2-3
All pretty essential
You could also use gallente or minmatar sidearms as they lean more toward CPU over pg

I do think a regulator or energizer is the best option there is, but it's still pretty much a wasted slot. The caldari sentinel regen is great even without it, what you really need is more gank and tank. My point is that most suits can fit gank and tank as they see fit, but the Caldari sentinel is forced into zero PG modules whether they like it or not. |

Ex11 PAV grenades
Kaalakiota Bolt pistol Ik assault forge
Hope that's helpful
Im certain I have bolt pistol and forge at fitting opt 2 at least

use an advanced shield extender. you only lose ~15 hp. Downgrading one of your damage mods would work too. The diff beteen adv and pro is only 1%.

It's the Sentinel fitting nerf from a while ago. All of the Sentinels basically had to dump millions into skills like Grenadier, Sidearm Operation, Fitting Optimization, etc.
Basically it took me a few million SP just to be able to get my proto Amarr Sent armor stacked, with everything proto except the sidearm, which is advanced.
F*k this cash grab fix the shit that matters: unkillable uplinks, invisible remotes on null cannon hack panels, etc.

ever thought that the suit is designed that way? as has been stated at max core skills you're pretty much flooded with CPU and limited PG. just because you have a proto suit doesn't mean you can fit it with full proto, you still have to have a balance in there, if you want full proto shield and offense then you have to drop the armour and fit a PG mod.
as for scrub, i'm not the one trying to have their cake n eat it when fitting a suit and then moaning about it when it doesnt all fit.

A lol fit is putting that many (heavy) damage mods on a forge in my opinion. Don't use dmg mods and you will see it is fine for PG. Though it struggles to even run 2 extenders and 2 energizers so 2 rechargers it is.
Like people have worked out in the past, the damage mods wont change how many shots it takes on ~things~ as personally since I pulled my damage mods off after reading this I have been enjoying the increased shield capability and have not noticed any difference when forging.
And personally I run a regulator in the lows, certainly not a PG intensive armour module. The proto regulators use less of both PG and CPU compared to a proto armour repair.

I have not ran the numbers or anything but my experience would lead me to believe co-ordinated attacks might still benefit from damage mod stacking.
I could see how a pair of breach forgers might want to wack a tank in a couple of shots with stacked dmg mods or something. But yea for solo forge gunning I dont use dmg mods any more. Someone out there can probably run the numbers.

Yeah, I rarely have the patience for "math-hammering", but I will prob take off dmg mods on my forge kits, see if I notice much difference, I haz prof 4 anyways, I find as long as my accuracy is on form, it's probably correct in that dmg mods probably don't make a significant difference
Rough brain math puts it somewhere at 100-150 extra dmg, over 4 shots 400-600....for 2 complex mods
I think one could do better with 2 high slots
The regulators aren't a terrible idea, however, If you run complex extenders you will cancel out your regu bonus Also you will not really be saving much time wise, I favour the armour repper
I keep regulators for my Calmando, assault an logi

OP is absolutely correct.
I pointed out Cal Sent would be PG poor when the sentinel CPU/PG changes were suggested. This is particularly true if your fitting an AFG.
The responses received were suggested gimped fittings.
The Cal Sent remains PG poor.
