Personally, I've found the AR to be largely useless, especially when compared to the other weapons. The ScR and LR are a bit more for certain users so it is understandable that it has lower usage. The CR is fairly good at fighting anywhere inside it's optimal range and has an optic. As for RR, I'm not really sure what the situation is since the update.

The BrAR is supposed to be insanely good at the moment according to the "meta" and after watching Saxonmish wreck with the Balac's I have a healthy respect for the AR's potential as a weapon (not that the standard variant is really all that great).

I would not use a video of a officer weapon to judge a weapon lol use the reg brAR then judge it. I use an advanced RR and even the standard over it not that it doesn't have its moments.

The breach ar is obnoxiously over powered. My 600 hp assault died before I could react.

The Breach isn't OP, people who use it actually get similar scores to people that use the Burst and Tactical.

I think the breach I very powerful its just flavor of the month I also believe scrambler is next for some people. Im almost lead to nelieve that people want to be killed slower. So nerfing all weapons would be a good idea for awhile.

I find the ScR to be the coolest and effective Light weapon. I got pro AR with 5 prof. 5 sharpshooter and 5 reload and the standard pro AR is still ... idk...lacking, but I still use it for role-playing purposes; with my pro Gal assault and commando.

The same could be done with a regular CR, ACR, ScR, AR, Tac AR... basically you will have a problem in this game if someone gets the drop on you and you aren't a heavy. |

Like most of the other weapons - skill it up to 5. It's beautiful in all it's forms. Breach is indeed popular at the moment.

The AR was, is and will probably always be my fav weapon. I-¦ve had my Exile assault BPO since beta and I guess it has grown on me.

Standard AR on a Min Assault with an SMG is fantastic.
Granted, it really has trouble killing on its own, outside of the breachs high alpha. I feel like this problem is only fixed by stacking damage mods....

This is actually totally true. In many other games the assault rifles are the most commonly used weapons. Most new Dust players will pick up the "Assault Rifle" thinking it is the average assault rifle of the game and therefore will be the most reliable type of mid-range weapon. (funnily enough this is not the case, AR is short range in comparison to other rifles)
What they often (understandably) don't realize is that there are 4 types of assault rifles in this game. Combat, Scrambler and Rail rifles all have the same sort of role as the "Assault Rifle", but the "Assault Rifle" is the only one clearly named as an assault rifle.
If the name was changed to "Plasma Rifle" then people wouldn't look at the name and think "I use this type of weapon in every game so I'm going to spend all my SP on that." any more than they would with any other racial rifle. |

The burst is not so great. The Breach is OP. The ar at close range hipfire is great. I feel confident with the ar paired with a toxin smg I'm good |

ARs are good weapon.
Breach Ars are the FOTM right now because of their low recoil,high damage and almost perfect hip fire....but after intense testing i can say something most people do not dare to say.
RIFLES ARE BALANCED.
Breach Ar just needs (next to Assault Combat Rifle and HMG's) a range reduction.
The best Damage mod is a HEADSHOT....
