Warning - Scammers in Squad lobbies

Talyn Xhalax New 'Recruits' Get Paid ISK - Ask For Details 0	Posted - 2014.11.26 01:45:00 - [1] - Quote Hello, There have been Squad lobbies set up with the titles: "Free ISK " "Selling PSN Cards" "ISK Doubling" etc. I and others have set up Squad lobbies with the titles: "Warning Free ISK is a scam" but people are still falling for it. I am not one of them and i would never hand over ISK or exploit the game in that way, hard earned ISK is what is important (in my opinion). Please CCP act on this before it gets worse and more players are turned away from this great game. Now, Some of you might find it funny, some might be "ok" with people getting scammed but think for a second. If new players get scammed and quit the game = less new players, less new players means = less spending of AUR and the game will not keep going without a new flux of new players. Not only that but we as a gaming community have a duty to look out for new players so they can enjoy the fun with us and not be scammed. They are only humans and humans make mistakes but if we let them get scammed and could help them and don't...we are no better than the scammers. So to new players, don't hand over your ISK to anyone, you do and you are risking your hard earned ISK for nothing. Scamming is wrong and so is the act of exploiting this game. Both need to be addressed before it gets out of control. Here are the list of names so far (they char and psn names) I will update post with new usernames and if need be screen shot and videos. They paid me and offer me 20m if i get 100k WP. How is that scamming me? I have handed over nothing or scammed no one. So what is your point? If you play Dust daily uow ill see my lobby warning people how not to get scammed, please remind me, what efforts you have made to ensure people don't get scammed..i mean other then attempting to point fingers at someone who is trying to help

The idea that they can get their ISK multiplied by some exploit/hack or whatever, is something people should immediately realize is against the rules, cheating the game, doing something that should get you banned from the game. And I think it's amusing that this is what you believe will turn new players away; Not the being proto-stomped by queue syncers (which, there aren't much less of than before 1.9) getting rolled over by jihad jeeps, tanks, dropships, and not knowing what fits to run or what to do to get kills or make any progress. You'll even see people using aurum to proto-stomp in Academy, that's what's chasing people away from the game, not scammers.

I don't know use old feature built into the Playstation 3 that might allow to ban such words as "FREE ISK" in lobby titles. That is just one idea... Ok let me flip this, so the logic goes - let there be 30 lobbies with all titled "FREE ISK" etc etc and if they get scammed...meh so what...and you really don't think that will turn players away from the game? I come from PC gaming and from experience, games that go unchecked with scamming leads to decline in membership... Ok i'll tell you what i'll shut up i guess any good spirit in this game just ends at the door, let people get scammed and when the game comes to a end and you spent countless hours grinding for SP and WP....well you can say meh nothing i could do, right? Ok i got ya.

I gave him 10 mil and he managed to turn back my previous three market purchases. I had purchased 100 proto suits for each of my Commando, Assault, and Scout. Total was around 17,307,000. You would think after spending "years" in the eve universe, you would see the pitfalls and hope to help others avoid them. I guess it's just some people have morals that don't end when you turn on a game, it's a matter of choice. I find it wrong but also anoying qhen you see those lobbies and they are growing in numbers.

HOWEVER scams involving PSN cards are permaban. CCP only allows scamming in regards to IN-GAME ASSETS ONLY. PSN card scamming falls under their blanket policies involving game time codes. If someone scams and does not provide valid card codes, templar codes, etc. The scam is instaban. Take pics and report this mercilessly. I was going to troll but the psn csrd thing is verboten. EVE Online is what you get when engineers attempt to create "fun" without consulting someone who comprehends the word.

I come from PC gaming and from experience, games that go unchecked with scamming leads to decline in membership... Ok i'll tell you what i'll shut up i guess any good spirit in this game just ends at the door, let people get scammed and when the game comes to a end and you spent countless hours grinding for SP and WP....well you can say meh nothing i could do, right? Ok i got ya. Did you do ANY research into CCP, EVE, or anything about New Eden before you made these posts? IF you had, you would have realized that scamming is acceptable under everything CCP stands for in their games.

The world is full of good people, bad people and neutral people. The only difference in games is that most of the time, the game developers won't allow the bad people to be bad. In New Eden, CCP lets you be who you want to be. I know people that in real life wouldn't punch someone but in EVE are some of the worst pirates there are. I know scammers, theifs and people who will pod you just for the kill mail. All of them are upstanding people in real life. And you know why, because they could never get away with it in the real world. They wouldn't WANT to get away with it. This a game, a fantasy, where you can be whoever you want and do whatever you want. It's escapism. You want to help new players, and that's admirable, but help them by making them understand the nature of the game, not by trying and get it changed to coddle them.
