It's a stupid mess, but there's England, Britain=England+Wales, Great Britain=Britain+Scotland while the United Kingdom=Great Britain+isles+Northern Ireland+Any other territory like the Falklands.
the island scotland is located on is called britain and has been for a few thousand years, ergo scotish, welsh and english folk are infact british wether they like it or not
