The officer plasma cannon is the most truly awesome weapon I have ever had the pleasure of using in DUST.
The bombardment it can put down is terrifying. Fwroom, fwroom, +50 +50 +50 as 800 splash damage arrives, even without direct hits. Each direct hit strikes harder than an Allotek, so all but the tankiest of heavies promptly roflsplode.
The amount of damage it does to vehicles is staggering. You deal 4000 damage up front in a second. Coupled with a lightning fast reload time, I've been smashing tanks by the dozen. Dropships too.
My officer weapons number in the hundreds, and I would swap every single one for half that number of placons.
Fittingly, I lost one of my two today to a direct plasma cannon hit.

I'm almost scared to use mine for extended periods of time.
I drive it for a minute, cloak, and park it back in the supply depot garage...not a scratch.
Try the new Planetary Conquest Mode!

I used mine on a commando with officer ARs and logi support. 
I'm a terrible person, I know. It turned out that I didn't need the ARs at all though, I could easily have done just as well with a Duvolle - the vast majority of my kills came from the plasma cannons, and they absolutely hammer vehicles. I almost broke 4000 WP off AV work in one busy match.

Arkena, you wouldn't truly be a terrible person until you ran a commando dual officer plcs as tank passenger. Hop out and unload your 8000 hp damage fury. then jump back in.

Hell even in a sponge fit Gunnlogi with a blaster I will stay the hell away from that thing.
Fundamentally reduced to ineffectiveness the Shield Hardener and has 2x shots in rapid succession with solid reload rates.

I've done something very similar. I swapped to a dual officer placon fit at a supply depot when a blaster Gunnlogi attacked.
It died in fire.

Honestly with a commando and maxed reload skill the reload is so fast it's not worth bothering with carrying two on one suit unless you absolutely need the up front damage for AV.
The bombardment it can lay down is terrifying on its own.

Does anyone know if the glitch works in FW? I wonder how friendly fire works with this glitch. If friendly fire works with the glitch then you wouldn't have to worry about it in FW. |
