I seriously do not know how else to balance assaults beyond a damage bonus...Assaults from 1.0-1.8 aside from exceptions were given bonuses like reload speed and the like and only the amarr suit is used. And it's still underutilized in PC. As a player...if I see 2 medium frames and the only difference between the 2 is one gets more base EHP and maybe slightly more regen...or the other gets 3-4 equip slots and no sidearm...historically people chose logi suits. Not since chrome has the assault suit really been that good. I'm open to other options but Cross and I both agree Assaults need to have a damage bonus. Assaults are fine, they have more HP than a Scout (and in some cases, Commandos) while being able to run just as faster as a Scout, along with increased slots for better versatility. The only reason why they aren't on top is because the Scout can abuse the lack of inertia to make up for the eHP difference and having the ability to see 90% of all enemies at all times; and the fact that a competent Sentinel can demolish an entire squad of people with little recourse nor effort. Give Assaults a better eWAR and address the Scouts & Sentinels and the problem will be solved. Alternatively however, you can apply your band-aid while also evicting the Commando from PC.
