Correct me if I'm wrong but CCP nerfed the time it takes to use your weapon when decloaking but buffed the decloaking animation, right? I'm sorry but that defeats the purpose. And it's evident because now players are shooting while still invisible. It's worse than it was before!
Point of the delay was so that you have to be visible before you can fire. But buffing the animation duration negates the nerf. I'm trying to understand the logic for buffing the animation. The decloak animation should be removed or it should be so instantaneous that it appears to have been removed.

They made it slower to pull up a weapon or piece of equipment from the cloak regardless if it is active or not. This means that some weapons that have a naturally faster "pull up" animation like the Shotgun or Assault Rail Rifle notice nothing while people that use Plasma Cannons are incredibly slow to go from cloak to weapon.
Really, all it needs to be is "you cannot fire until 1.5 seconds have passed after you appear." TF2 has been that way for years and it seems to work. If need be, make 1.5 seconds longer but it just needs to be "cannot fire until X duration has passed after decloaking."

I have seen scouts shoot two and three shotgun shoots while still invisible.
The delay to switching to weapons is prefect now but somehow it made shooting while invisible even worse.
Gun control is not about guns...it's about control.
The only way to ensure freedom is by having the means to defend it.

I agree with TS.
Was in battle on Friday where I witnessed a scout getting off 2 shotgun rounds while still cloacked (saw this twice myself and squad mates confirmed they saw it also).
It's very frustrating that this is still an issue as it is one of the most unbalanced aspects of the game right now.

lol you are cute for trying to make logic out of the developers decision. When do you learn that there is a monkey throwing darts at a spreadsheet with random numbers? Thats the main influence of how things get nerfed/buffed.

Decloak animation must be removed until we can find a better solution. Right now, we just go back to early 1.8 when people can shoot while Cloaking
CCP slow down time to putdown cloak, not the time to pull up a weapon. Also it affect all cloaker regardless if it is active or not. This is the most stupid way to fix cloak.
Still, Rattati claim " it is work as intended " . Don't you know Rattati, the point of the delay was so that you have to decloak and be visible before you can fire
Current implement, the cloaker has fully cloak during decloak delay (the putdown phase). Also the decloak animation render after decloaked ( during pull up weapon). This is why instance pull up weapon like the Shotgun, Assault Rail Rifle, or SCR can shoot While Cloaking.

Yes it clearly is worse than before. Before it was a case of people could shoot as they were decloaking. Now people can get off a good portion of shots before they even begin to decloak.
I dont understand why they increased the delay but also increased the time to 'drop cloak'.

What is annoying is that if you had cloak equipped but not active it ends up being a 2 or 3 second delay to using your weapon, even though you weren't actually cloaked in the first place...

The slow animation fix is a bit awkward. It seems like it would've been easier to code a timer before the fire button is useable. |

Cloaks aren't as noticeable too me anymore either. I used to see them easily. Now it's hard for me to see them even if I'm fairly certain where they are.

I was killed with a scrambler rifle and he was still invisable. I was also strafing but since I couldnt see em I missed most of my shot

Do you mean in general or just in maps with the new lighting conditions?
I haven't tested it much but I know that in broad daylight they are literally invisible. I wonder if they increased the sunlight brightness in day lighting conditions...

This is another point. I didn't want to say this because I thought it was just me. But I feel like the invisbility got buffed as well. Before, if I decloaked in front of me...I was able to track them sometimes. But now, it is harder to see them. They cloak right in front of me and they are gone.

It's not the biggest issue for me, but I have watched friendlies get double shotted by Scouts who were still in cloak. CCP gave cloaks an unnecessary buff.

Wow, almost the opposite is working for me.
Pressing the button I customized for swapping weapons does nothing after 2 tries where it did before.
Give the Magsex some love.
