I have been an HMG Sentinel since 1.3. I use the Milita HMG much of the time. Here is some helpful advice.
If you can fit a quick pause in the middle of a fight, taking your finger off the trigger whenever you get off target, when you over correct or while switching from one target to another, it will increase the rounds you can get out before overheat by quite a bit.
I like the heat change, because handling Overheat defines the difference between a casual Sentinel and a dedicated Sentinel. Now not everyone and their dog can do it as effectively as a dedicated Sentinel.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

Feldt-Grace wrote:I miss my Caldari-Sentiel with a Burst HMG q.q What happened to your Caldari-Sentinel with Burst HMG? I play that fit regularly.
I also run Minmatar Sentinel with Burst HMG, or sometime with Assault HMG depending on the map.
If I know I have to take on a squad of 5 or 6 guys that are working together, then I break out my Boundless HMG, but I don't bother for anything less.
Of course my default fit is Raven Amarr Sentinel with Militia HMG.

thanks for the advice, im more of a push, push, push type of heavy. My goal is to always get 30+ kills on the battlefield since im kind of locked down on one game mode which is Dom. Seems to me the only way to be able to get 3rd or 2nd on the weekly leader board as a heavy. Im so use to just fighting with my logi and not even looking at the over heat on my HMG but now i listen for the sound it makes that way i know to let go before i over heat. Watch the color of the tip of your HMG too. It goes from dark to red as it heats up, and darkens again as it cools off.
Just practice looking for those opportunities to stop your fire for a moment, and with practice your will find more and more chances to do so without effecting your damage output. Only shoot when your are likely to hit something.
Or use the Burst HMG for a while, and then heat management on the standard will seam easy. ![Blink](https://forums.dust514.com/Images/Emoticons/ccp_blink.png)
