If so, that's a pretty lame reason.
Not trying to start a PC vs Console war, and while I admit, it would be nice for console players to continue with their gaming system of choice. It isn't a decision we get to make. CCP has said they will develop Legion for PC and possibly port it later.
That is their decision, and no amount of complaining of even actual conversation on the forums will change their minds. No im not making any ps4 vs pc here,im just want people add here what ps4 has and pc dont. And my mind share play is great, bcause that way if person x has the game that i have been thinking get i can try it and see if i want to get it.Pc don't have system like that But... its a free2play game...

Thumb Green wrote:I'm genuinely curious cause his graphics card is old. I got the video card about a year ago, along with a twin core 2.6GHZ processor and i used my 10+ year old 200GB that came with our $600 Compaq Presario(damn thing was like 1.3GHz single core, back when the only thing out was single core...)
As for the current processor/ram, i got it for 330 about half a year ago.
Even considering I might've maybe been able to go junk rummaging on Ebay(I happened to stumble upon a package of 3 i7's for 70 bucks, and a "Meh" videocard that's a like 450 at 70 bucks, but it's only DDR3 and 128bit(whatever that is, i think it's the same as a PS2) It's still damn expensive to get a "gaming" PC at the same specs as a PS4, and expect it to cost the same, It's just not going to happen unless you're trying to match a PS1, and even then you have separate shipping costs that'll run you up to about 3x what a PS2 would cost nowadays.
End verdict: Consoles give you the best performance per dollar, and comes pre-setup with it's own OS, antivirus(seriously, who would make a virus for a Ps3 and distribute that through the interwebz?) and full complement of hardware/peripherals(whereas with a PC you need to buy/acquire your own keyboard/mouse, controller, speakers, mousepad, etc.)
Also, and my main reason for preferring a console(even now, when my PC is nearing $600) is because there is always, ALWAYS, an even playing ground on the hardware stage. No whining or apologizing that "my videocard is old, so you killed me before my monitor ever showed you were there" No "well you threw a nade, and my system doesn't like nades, so you're being unfair."
Not saying either is inferior/superior, it's a simple trade-off. Also i'm Ebay scouring for a new PS3 to replace my current zombified one, AND i'm going to get a videocard sometime before Christmas.

The biggest advantage that consoles have is that every developer knows what system it will be on. If I play The Last of Us on my friend's PS3, I know what to expect. Same goes for any console game. It is pre-fit, I know that this game will run. I can buy a new game, throw it in, and know that providing there isn't something wrong with the disc or my console, it will run as the developer intends. This is not so with PC where you have different computers of different power, setting, and performance. On the flip side of that, a PC can beat the hell out of consoles in the graphical and technical department.
It is Communism vs. Capitalism. I don't mean this to insult anyone but it is the best way I can look at it. A console is fair, I know what it will do. However, I will never be in a 'mansion' with a console compared to what a PC can do. They are both viable options for playing games. Yes, one will give you better performance (60 FPS, 1080p) but the other generally has less things to go wrong with it.
If you want to head down the road, an Elantra will get you there in no time flat. If you want to race, a muscle car is a better option; just be aware that you might have to include some additives to the fuel to keep up with newer and newer races while the Elantra is perfectly paced for roads.

As both a PC and Console player I can tell you the "PC master race" thing is BS. It's all good. I have both 360 and PS3 as well, both fine. Have PS4 but will wait a bit before getting an xbone eventually.
But then again, I'm a grown up, went to college, have a career and thus have the money to buy the toys I want and don't have to spend all my pocket money on one platform and then desperately validate and defend my choice on the internet.
Actually saw a PC user ranting on a forum about how consoles were "dying out" and I lol'd.

It's hard to say if Consoles are dying while there's a demand for these simple boxes that people can play plenty of games on for however long it's life cycle is. While PC gaming and Mobile gaming is getting better(hardware always improving) and bigger(more people) each year

My PC can run Playstation 2 graphics and it costs 400 bucks(not counting the OS, or video card which i got from a friend) To get it to play Warframe on Ps4 levels ill need a $250 vidcard, bringing my total to 650 bucks, meanwhile i'll also need to buy Antivirus(Avast isnt cutting it) and more RAM.
My specs BTW: AMD quad core 3.8GHZ, 4GB DDR3 ram, 9500Gt(damn thing isnt even supported anymore by Nvidia), 500Gb hard drive, and a extremely crap economy motherboard.
THAT. For 500+ bucks already, which cant even play Far Cry 3 on full blown minimum at beyond 20 FPS, and plays Warframe at 25+ until a smoke puff shows its ugly head, then its 12.
The 9500GT is practically a museum piece at this point, if you spend $100 on a card like this, you will be more than capable of playing modern games. The 750 is an extremely energy efficient video card that does not even need an extra power connection from the power supply unit, so there is almost no risk of incompatibility with your system, and it is already similar in power to the next gen consoles.
Just open up the case, unscrew the old card, drop in the new card, download and install the newest drivers from Nvidia. It will run Far Cry 3 and Warframe far, far better than the 9500 GT you're used to.
If you want to get fancy, and you check on your power supply to make sure it has the cables and wattage to support it, spending more on a graphics card upgrade will completely eclipse the capabilities of the PS4 or Xbone. You will be able to play any cross-platform game ever released on these consoles at settings as good or better than the PS4, for the entirety of the console's lifespan.
AMD in particular is gunning hard for Nvidia, trying to stay competitive after the release of the Geforce GTX 970 and 980 series. AMD has massively cut the prices of their cards in response, and is bundling free games with most of their products, including new games like Alien: Isolation and Star Citizen. Here's a $160 video card more powerful than the Playstation 4 that comes with 3 free games!
I assure you, the rest of your PC is good enough. The video card is by far the largest factor in game performance. Games are rarely processor intensive (Planetside 2 is the only exception that comes to mind), and you've got a better CPU there than my gaming PC. I can get low FPS in large battles in PS2, but when there's literally hundreds of people running around shooting guns in every direction, who doesn't have performance hiccups?
And 4gb of ram isn't that much of an issue. If you're really hurting for more ram to run more things at once, 8gb of DDR3 is only about $70 these days.
So, for your choice of between $100-230, you can turn your current PC you are lucky enough to already have into a great gaming machine far better than a PS4
As for PS4 being a cheaper, this is a popular build around $400, depending on sales, known as the "next gen crusher". Three guesses why it's called that.
Technology marches on, parts get cheaper, faster, more powerful, more efficient. Meanwhile, the consoles which are built to rigid specs stagnate over their lifespan, rapidly becoming eclipsed by even "low-end" budget PC parts. The CPU and video card in that build are both more powerful than any of the "next gen" consoles.
It used to be true in the era of the Playstation 2 and the early days of the PS3/XBox 360 that the consoles had more powerful hardware and were able to sell it cheaper than comparable PC parts by massively subsidizing the cost of the hardware in the hopes that game sales and services would make a profit. But the lifespan of the PS3/360 has lingered on for far too long, and now even integrated CPU graphics can outperform them. Sony and Microsoft both decided that they didn't want to play the subsidized hardware game this time around, and the Radeon 78xx based chipset they both decided on was considered mid-range when it was brand new. By the time the consoles actually came out, the video chips were already a generation behind. Sub-$200 video cards already outperform them, and this gap is only going to get wider as time goes on.
Now, wanting to play with friends who own the game consoles, or wanting to play the "exclusive" games Sony and Microsoft have a stranglehold on are fair enough reasons for getting a "next gen" console. I got myself a PS3 to play MGS4 and Uncharted and of course Dust, after all. But the often repeated idea of "consoles are just more affordable" simply isn't true any more and hasn't been for a long time. |

Well, it makes sense to develop for PC because constantly updated hardware plus no need to go through Sony QA.
But it ALSO makes sense to develop for PS4 because of hardware/software streamlining, a different demographic from which funds can roll in, and protection from Hax. |

I bought ps3 for few reasons: * my laptop was getting old, * UT3 didn't work on my laptop, * there was possible to use yellow dog on ps3 (i bought 500 GB hard drive, made 160 GB for linux to backup files from laptop)
And more like less cheaters, no need to upgrade ps3 parts, games database growing every day.
Here is reality. Cost will be the same. PC will cost more at the beginning than ps3 but: * games for pc are cheaper, * Sony sell same game for 9,99 euro, steam for 1 dollar, * Digital copy of game is cheaper than disc version. Not on PSN. Digital copy has same or even more expensive price * when ps3 was released they sweared all games will be in 1080, most of them is 720p, those 1080 are rescalled from SdHD to 1080, * PS4 is what they told us ps3 will be,
My friend showed me few of my ps3 games on his 400 euro PC (my ps3 cost 360euro years ago) and it was like comparing Quake 2 to quake 3.
Sorry to say but I would not be cheated by Sony again. Not to mention this is my 2nd ps3, first one died at FF XIII
