The background on my PS3 was getting stale, so I made my own custom dynamic theme with an awesome newly released piece of concept art for Dust 514, the Toxic Mood.

To Download Theme:
-First create a folder titled PS3 on a USB stick, then create a folder within that called THEMES. You'll place the file in THEMES. Now plug in the USB to your PS3 and go to theme settings on the Cross Menu Bar. Above current themes you will see the option to Install.

Creating or downloading a theme on a PC
When you download a theme from a Web site or create a theme using a PC, make a new folder named [PS3] - [THEME] on the storage media, and then store the theme in this folder. Theme files must be saved with the extension [.P3T].
To install the theme in the system storage of the PS3Gäó system, connect the storage media that contains the theme file to the system, and then select (Settings) > (Theme Settings) > [Theme] > [Install].

instructions unclear, stuck in fireplace. serious note my PS3 will not see this file for some reason followed the instructions and i cant see it possible noob issue on my end
EDIT: i followed the instructions on dl from the sire on my ps3 and worked it out, awesome job i love it

Glad to hear the positive response surround this. I will use the original post to display more themes and updates to them if seen necessary.

Just updated everything. Let me know what you think.
I figured out how to program in sounds by tweaking the xml file with notepad++. I feel pretty proud of myself for that because I have very little background in programming.

Same here. The PS3 homebrew community has done wonders to make complex theme creation more accessible. I didn't realize all this support was out there until a few days ago. I guess I'm late by a console generation.
I wonder how long it'll be until Sony adds official install support for the PS4 like they have on the PS3.

I'll see what I can make. That Rattati Geisha Girl was based off a small stock photo that I doctored so it won't scale well as is. I'll have to place it into a large image or collage.

-Texture Tools for Adobe Photoshop
-MFAudio to convert 41400 16bit wav audio files to a .vag file that is readable by sony devices.
-Notepad++ to edit XML files
-Theme Extractor to extract menu bar icons and sound files from themes saved in a .pt3 file.

That's easy enough to fix. The logos are just transparent layers. When I get home, I'll uncheck a box and compile logo-less versions.

The flight of the fatties one was taken in the Palace of the Seven Winds personal space in PS Home. That space allows you to fly around with your character among the clouds. I took a screenshot and went to work in photoshop on it.
-The Underground Hideout space was used for the Minmatar shot.
-Sci-fi apartment for the Gallente Scout shot.
-Konami dance space for the Caldari shoot.

Maybe Jadek has been scaring away competition from that even due to how good his skills at poker are.

I believe there is a backgrounds tab in the Theme section or if you go into images and tap triangle it may bring up an option to make an image a background.
