I totally agree with you and think it would be nice if the game was set up solo que/matchmaking/team deploy. This would be a progressive system, and in this example pubs would be solo que (you get money and skill points), skill point gain is slow so for that extra step up you would have to squad up for FW (LP SP BPO) still needing afford to play you would still be in pubs, then once you have a decent amount of skill points, you have to make the jump to PC in order to afford the proto you are then able to buy(insert gains here). The main point of this is it would reduce war wariness of new players potentially expanding the player base.
I have not played pc myself my knowledge of gains is second hand only if someone could post avg pc payout that would be great.
I will call myself out I am a horribad player and generally do even worse when I am in a squad because I rp team work and follow around my squad mates instead of point hoeing. I spend most of my time dropping and defending uplinks when I do slay I do ok so my choices are good k/d or good point gain and at this point I need the sp also it helps my team.

You guys should think about your outlook whether this game is a beta or not the players are here for feed back we are a tool for the devs to use. Since this game is free consider yourself an employee and construct your ideas well and make sure they benefit the game any not yourself. Most importantly give and explanation of your motives because while there is a lot of hate on the forums the devs are not foolish and will look at each idea in context despite criticisms. It is probably best not to let yourself get pulled into an argument I did the other day and I felt quite ashamed of myself after.

We are all gluttons for punishment that is why we are still here, but a lot of people are not. While the op speaks with passion I think the health of the game is his intent. What he proposes isn't a one sided goal because a rising tide raises all ships vets get more noobs to trash, noobs get a better experience, an increased player base increases the population of all game modes, and potentially bring a higher profit for ccp.

I am totally getting ahead of myself, but if the progression indeed worked the potential for adding more unique gains/grinds to PC would be there.

While your progression may have been somewhat similar your competition was not the gains in this game are linear.

Thor no one wants that, but if there are not thresholds added to the game we will all be riding it into the.... well... dust.

I agree, and I think that many of the issues stem from CCP ignoring the squad/team play aspect of Dust for so long. They need to figure out how to completely flip the ratio of solo:squad players in matches. The auto squading is okay, but the vast majority aren't going to change their playstyle due to some green dots mixed in with their blue dots.
Since progression is linear the game just gets more and more inhospitable to new players this is probably a change that is long overdue. While auto squad may make people more familiar with team play without any restrictions it would likely have a devastating effect of removing all hope from new players because as it is now people say well you should squad up, when we all know it makes little difference with our very small player base i.e. I will face the same people almost every match in a squad and likely out.

I'm not sure I follow what you are trying to say here.
If we just squad people up it doesn't change their ability to compete, because they do not have the sp or tactics that a pre formed vet squad. The problem persists and escalates as the population ages vet>noob. This furthers new player strife, causes any population booms to be lost, and eventually degrades the likelihood of a sustainable player base to zero.
