If you want to Assault people go into Assault so you don't get hurt when they nerf scouts again.
Commando is just a diverse Sentinel. You have crap ewar but get two light weapons allowing you to AV, Snipe, or Crowd Control (MD) and carry a rifle or you can just carry two rifles for extra fire power.
Sadly, HMG's are probably the biggest killer now as almost all FW and PC battles are won with a heavy dose of Sentinels. |

I think it depends on what you are trying to accomplish.
Carrying 2 light weapons is great for Commandos, but they are much less flexible. I certainly wouldn't main a Commando.
Assaults have more HP and versatility than scouts, so if you are sticking with a squad, and have some active scanners or scouts in your squad, they are certainly very effective.
If you are soloing, scouts are the easiest because you can use dampening and EWAR as a defensive buffer instead of a squad. Though you will be much more vulnerable with the lower HP, and have to be more selective with your targets.

Depends on 1) preferred tactics, 2) terrain, 3) opponent, 4) enemy teamwork, 5) friendly teamwork, etc.

Although Am and Min Assault give them a run for their money in many situations, the scout and it's cloak and EWAR advantage means it's simply better at assaulting than any assault suit. |

I find the cloak to be more of a necessary liability now.
I would give it up in a heartbeat if I could just dampen with Complex Damps.

Take a Cal scout and strafe, that will work extremely well until they finally fix the broken strafing mechanic or the Cal scout hitbox.
Commandos are to me funnier than assaults, but currently assaults are better (that may also change if they fix the strafing mechanic) |

I would say commandos for 1v1s and forward assaulting, assaults for grenades against grouped enemies and mid ranged fighting, scouts for demolitions.
