I am looking at the attributes and fitting options and I can not understand why people give a crap about these suits. I can not see anything special about them that would make me want to pay actual money for them. Why do people care about these suits? |

Because people want to make ISK and not lose ISK in public matches where they would normally run inferior BPO's. No one is buying them to actually perform well. Just to have a way to grind ISK more effectively.

Nothing to special about the assault or sentinel APEX suits in my opinion. All assaults already have BPO's along with most weapons and mods. Logi APEX is special because you get all your equipment slots in a BPO. Scott APEX is special because you get a cloak BPO. Commando APEX is special because they're the only commando BPO's.

They are for new players, but it takes weeks/months of grinding in a new player-unfriendly mode OR a fat stack of cash in order to get one.
Though, perhaps if you see through the bull, it might look like a tiericide experiment being carried out by an intellectually deficit potato.

The APEX suit is a waste in my mind.
They were originally advertised as "New players can buy them to get a slightly edge to help with the veterans and veterans can get them from doing FW" but the benefits of using them over a the basic Frontline is next to nil and a Standard quality suit can be fit for about 10-12k that will out preform the APEX in a big way. They are too expensive to help the new player in a decent way and the veteran could easily use something else if they wanted to grind money. Jeez, for the same price you could probably buy 30+ million by just selling Aurum stuff to the vendor.
For grinders, you are setting up a 10 million investment in order to save money. Let's say the suit is worth 15,000 ISK; sure it is Prototype but it isn't 'optimally' fit. You would need to die more than 666 times in order to make up for the original investment. Let's say that you die twice a match. That's over 1,200 matches. If you make 200k per match, you would have made 240 million. Spending 10 million isk so after more than 2,400 games you can look to the guy using a 15k suit that played with you and go "Oh, you only made 460 million? Well, I made 470 million!" seems kind of pointless. Hell, with my 'mediocre to decent' play and only 50 million ISK I can basically run my Prototype Scout and Tanks for as long as my interest holds in this game so past a certain point money is pointless...
Have different numbers for what the suit is worth to you when it comes to grinding? Pretty easy to figure out: 10,000,000 / {What the Suit is worth to you} = A, number of deaths for the suit to actually save you money (round up to nearest whole) B = Average amount of deaths per match when using the APEX suits. C = Average amount of money you will make in a match.
(A / B) x C = Money earned when the suit 'breaks even'.
"This is B.S! This is B.S! I paid money! Cash money, dollars money, cash money!"

I just want some different looking BPOs and didn't wanna buy Quafes. Hell, most people only want them as vanity items - take the guys that bought ALL the Quafe suits for instance.
