Wow..... I picked this up today on a whim and damn I think I am in love with this game.
I'm less than a week into surviving in Perograd and there have been some rough moments for Bruno, Pevle, and Katia (not sure if everyone starts with the same characters) but they came through it very well.
Day 1: The survivors spent the day clearing out the abandoned building that they were calling home and established what supplies they had and what they would need to survive. Bruno was first to volunteer for scavenging duty and went to a bombed out building looking for supplies and survivors.
Day 2: After a successful night scavenging the trio were able to build themselves a stove and some beds preventing them from suffering any nasty confrontations due to fatigue and had their first cooked meal in weeks thanks to Bruno's experience with his cooking show. Pevle left for a ruined section of down town and found a hungry man but was unable to help him.
Day 3: A trader visited and we were able to exchange some of our components for the means to build a shovel and some more food and water. With that we also discovered that two previously locked sections of the house held medical supplies and stores of valuable components. Using these the survivors built a radio and tuned in for some grim news. Pevle returned to the hungry man with some vegetables and meat and was rewarded with some valuable jewelry.
Day 4: Katia proposed that the survivors set up a rain collector so that water would plentifully be supplied during the frequent rains and Bruno who was free built it up in one of the attic rooms. In a grim turn of events the survivors were suffering for lack of food and only Katia and Pevle were able to eat as Bruno forsook his own meal for theirs. Katia later departed to help some neighbours in a nearby tenement after artillery fire brought the building down on them. Bruno left for a nearby gas station to secure supplied and managed to trade medical gear for a hatchet, food, and components. Meanwhile Pevle was down with a cold and rested the evening.....however due to his illness he did not wake when the house was broken into and some parts and water was stolen.
Day 5: Bruno went hungry again and Katia and Pevle were on the spot while he rested seeing to the collection of resources and dismantling of all non useful wooden structures for fuel and building materials. Pevle left the evening for the super market hoping to find for food for Bruno who was had been unable to eat for three days...... he stumbled across a soldier and a scavenger the former aggressively making advances on her. Acting rather rashly he stuck a hatchet in the back of the soldiers head......terrifying the girl but leaving him with an assault rifle and an entire supermarket to loot for food.
Day 6: Bruno was finally able to eat. The raid last night paid dividends as resources were traded en masse for food and fire arm components which allowed Katia to show off her negotiations skills and for Bruno to cook up a feast for the first time in days. Pevle was ill again but resting with medicine and slightly wounded from his tussle with the soldier the night before. While Burno remained on guard Katia took the assault rifle out to a near by portioned house......full of armed raiders......
Honestly at first I had no idea what to do but now that I do...... I feel like for the first time in a god-awful long time, since Valkyria Chronicles, I actually care about my three survivors and am doing my damnedest not to put them into harms way.
I said, "Empress, I do this, I thought that you knew this.
Can't stand non-believers and honest, the truth is...
