I just got one (the Federation 'Serpernt' Scout) just recently, however, I'm really gunning for the Republic 'Shaman' Logistics suit.
However, once I got it, I found that I was unable to edit, restock, or rename the fits. Those options are grayed out.
Why? I understand the inability to edit, however, this was fixed as you enter the "edit" screen anyways making the fit. Recent hotfix makes it so the suit does not accept any changes made to it so I would assume even if we were to enter the "edit" screen again, we would still be unable to make changes. On top of that, some of us would like to look at individual modules without making the fit over and over and over again.
Restock I fully understand, although it could throw the same error when you try to restock the starter suits. (Actually, I'm going to have to double-check if you can again, it's been so long.)
Rename? Really? I can't organize them and call it something special other than something that the generic name it gives me? I just don't understand this one at all.
TL;DR: Allow us to rename our AUR or LP APEX suits.

Agreed. Naming suits according to one's own convention is essential to battlefield preparedness.

I THINK this works outside the fitting screen, so that's one of your problems down. |

The ability to rename is probably part of the same coding that lets you edit a fit and it seems they finally fixed that in the Apex suits. Thus, you get what you see.
Though, if a dropsuit is making you question your loyalty to your own kind... then you were never loyal to begin with. |

Can you expound on your regret for purchasing the suit. Which suit was it? What are the drawbacks? etc.

Even though there's an Amarrian assault Apex I'm not touching it. My Quafe suit is likely better equipped than it is and I've set those up with MIL BPO modules. Well that's understandable for an assault suit. The thing is the APEX Min Logi has things that hit up my alley on several levels: 1) Proto BPO means a 4th equipment slot 2) Min means it benefits from better repairs 3) ACR (I have Combat Rifle Operation, Proficiency, Ammo, Reload, Fitting Op. 5. It's also the only weapon I'm decent at in the game) 4) Equipment layout is exactly how I fit on my prototype suit
And I also have the Sever Logi BPO, however the difference is that I'll never be able to equip it better than the APEX. On top of that, I will be able to consolidate my two BPO fittings (1: Injector, Repair Tool, Nanohive 2: Injector, Repair Tool, Uplink) into a single fit, thereby "increasing" my total fittings.
So in my eyes, it's totally worth it and then some.

duster 35000 wrote:They hotfixed the editing glitch? Yep. Tried it today with the Federation 'Serpent' Scout. When you create the fitting using "Create New Fitting", and select the dropsuit, you are able to "edit" it still before backing out to your fitting selection.
Rumor has it, you were able to slap weapons, modules, and equipment on it. Since they had a 999 CPU and PG fitting, you could literally fit anything you wanted to until you backed out to the fitting selection screen.
Hotfix happened overnight. People trying to go into battle with the fits they had created from before would be removed from battle. Furthermore, trying to equip something onto the suit using the above method would result in the ignoring of the selection.
For example, I created my Federation Scout, went to the Shotgun, selected it and selected replace. I decided to use a Six Kin Combat Rifle and selected it. The circle came up and went away as if I equipped it but the item was not equipped to the suit.

yeah it would be nice. i tend to rename my suits so that the ones i use the most are close to each other at the top. being able to rename them would make things a little easier.
also the Vk.1 Dragon Scout A-I needs a profile damp changign to a range amp. there is far too much EWAR on that thing but it'd be more usefull having a bit more range on it

Agreed with being able to rename the Apex fittings. One thing I wish I could do on my Min Apex logi is to rearrange the equipment. Hate where the injector is located.

Totally agree. I dont like switching to the wrong suit if your scrolling down the list. And once selected it can take me up to 5 or 10 seconds to get to the right suit. Naming my suits made it so much easier for me.
So why not for the Apex suits? |

Still support this :D such a simple request i'm not sure why its not been implemented in the hotfix. perhaps the edit/rename functions are tied into each other. we all know ccp take shortcuts in dusts development (why our suits have to have the same role bonus and only individual racial bonus)
