Thus, you get what you see. Though, if a dropsuit is making you question your loyalty to your own kind... then you were never loyal to begin with.

Even though there's an Amarrian assault Apex I'm not touching it. My Quafe suit is likely better equipped than it is and I've set those up with MIL BPO modules.

Well that's understandable for an assault suit. The thing is the APEX Min Logi has things that hit up my alley on several levels: 1) Proto BPO means a 4th equipment slot 2) Min means it benefits from better repairs 3) ACR (I have Combat Rifle Operation, Proficiency, Ammo, Reload, Fitting Op. 5. It's also the only weapon I'm decent at in the game) 4) Equipment layout is exactly how I fit on my prototype suit And I also have the Sever Logi BPO, however the difference is that I'll never be able to equip it better than the APEX. On top of that, I will be able to consolidate my two BPO fittings (1: Injector, Repair Tool, Nanohive 2: Injector, Repair Tool, Uplink) into a single fit, thereby "increasing" my total fittings. When you create the fitting using "Create New Fitting", and select the dropsuit, you are able to "edit" it still before backing out to your fitting selection. Totally agree. I dont like switching to the wrong suit if your scrolling down the list. And once selected it can take me up to 5 or 10 seconds to get to the right suit. Naming my suits made it so much easier for me. So why not for the Apex suits?
