This is my favorite fit for causing chaos and explosions solo. I have proficiency 3 swarms and combat rifles and proto minmatar commando, and I find this scout fit way more fun to play. Also very cheap, especially if you have blueprints for any of the items.
Scout G-I
Weapons: STD Plasma cannon STD SMG (optional upgrade to Breach SMG for longer lasting magazine and ammo reserves) ADV AV grenades
Equipment: STD Nanohive STD Remote explosives (optional upgrade to advanced RE for improved vehicle killing power)
Modules: MLT shield extender
MLT armor plate MLT armor repairer (or second plate) Cardiac Regulator (the highest tier you are capable of fitting)
How to use Killing infantry: Use splash damage from the PLC to soften up your target and immediately switch to the SMG. The PLC will likely strip off most or all of the targets shields, and the SMG will quickly shred through the remaining shield and armor.
With practice, direct hits from the plasma cannon will instantly kill most dropsuits. If you can train the arc of the shot to muscle memory, killing stationary targets on buildings or hills up to 100m away becomes easy. There are few more humiliating ways to kill a sniper than a direct hit from a plasma cannon at long range.
Killing vehicles: Most LAVs are easily taken out with a direct hit from a plasma cannon and one (Onikuma, Saga) or two (Baloch, Methana) AV grenades as mercs rarely bother to add any defensive modules which increase the cost of their disposable transport. They even tend to help you by driving straight at you, making lining up a plasma shot and nade very easy.
You probably won't be killing any dropships, but try anyways because it is really fun to watch the plasma rounds smack the dropship around like a pi+Ķata. Hey, at least you get vehicle damage WP.
Hunting tanks is where this suit gets really fun. I'm sure you've all tried killing tanks with REs at some point or another, and noticed that more experienced drivers will hear the deployment noise and immediately drive away, preventing you from setting a fatal number of explosives on the weakpoint and melting your face with a large blaster. Well this time, you have a plasma cannon. Place two REs on the side of the tank. Its easier to get more REs on the larger surface of the side if the tank starts moving than it is trying to catch up to the rear of the tank. Even if the driver is jumpy and starts moving the instant you toss the first, you can generally get at least the second one to stick to the hull, and depending on the tank you're fighting, one might be enough.
Now soften the poor guy up with the plasma cannon and your AV nades, if you're still close enough. One plasma shot will wipe out the shields on a soma/madrugar removing the explosive resistance and giving you an extra RE worth of damage. Well, unless the driver put a shield extender on, in which case he's probably going to blow up his tank driving into an unmanned hostile blaster installation later on anyways. Switch to your REs, chuck an av nade if applicable, and start hammering the detonator to see that sweet, sweet pile of WP rewards pop up on your screen.
If you're fighting a Sica/Gunnlogi, you'll have more shields to burn through with the plasma cannon, but you won't need as many REs. One is enough to destroy stock armor, two will finish off the people who like sticking militia 120mm plates on. If the tank has stock shields and armor, and you can manage to place two remotes before the driver starts backing up, quickly landing a single plasma shot and AV nade before its out of range will deplete the shields enough to make the remotes deadly, and you can often finish it off before the driver activates any defensive modules.
If you are killed before being able to set off the REs, DON'T RUSH TO DETONATE THEM WHEN YOU RESPAWN. The tank will most likely have regenerated enough hp to survive at that point. Instead, start stalking the tank again, because now you can skip the step of sneaking up to it and placing REs. You would be amazed at how many experienced tankers don't bother to go back to their redline and flux the REs off their hulls. Start shooting plasma rounds and AV nades at it, set a couple more REs if you like, or simply wait for the driver to get into a fight with friendly AV/installations/tanks and detonate when it takes some damage.
BONUS ROUND: Sometimes, the driver will hop out in a heavy HMG fit and try to kill you. If you are lucky and can react fast enough, you can put a plasma cannon round in his face or blap him with a RE frisbee. Time to take his tank on a joyride ![Lol](https://forums.dust514.com/Images/Emoticons/ccp_lol.png) |
