Seriously though, damp your assault suits. I have a shotgun assault that wrecks most scouts since they don't run precision, and I have far more HP and damage thanks to a 2x Damage modded shotgun. I don't need to dampen. I can literally catch up to any scout with high HP and if they're fast and light weight I scramble them. I can even beat heavies to death before they turn around.

Well At+ğm you have to look at it like this, This isn't Chromosome vets' traditional speed tank and it's not meant to be.
The usual reason speed tanks are terrible is because a speed tank isn't just a speed tank. A speed tank is a special type of glass cannon fit that relies on a fast and powerful attack whereby the assailant quickly vanishes by relying on just speed to evade pursuers. So what is wrong with this methodology?
It is weak at range and you always lose engagements where you're not the attacking party.
By having a remarkable amount of health for a fast suit this class bypasses the old faults of archaic speed tank fits. By using a Scrambler Rifle the class is competitive at range. And by using armor as my base defense I'am able to trade blows with others that are more adept at range.
Why didn't I use the Minmatar Assault? Because it is extremely easy to dispatch because of its low health at both close and long range. The low health and reliance on shields is particularly worrying because in CQC you will often be found face to face with shotguns and AR's that will kill you the second you're spotted and by using armor the Amarr Assault does better against these challenges. Also it lacks the stamina and stamina recharge of the Amarr Assault. By using the Minmatar Assault I would be limited to a high damage high speed suit that cannot establish a good defense nor excel outside of close quarters.
At+ğm, the Speed Tank of today is no longer the suicidal suit of yesterday. Instead it is a suit that uses a formidable amount of health, damage, speed and stamina to overwhelm oponents instead of relying just on damage and speed.

You used a proto suit. I used an Advanced.
