 make swarms dumb fire and remove the lock on, (or make variants) dumb fire does more damage and can kill infantry while lock on tracks stuff and does less damage and can not kill infantry
 
 Also add a targeting system modularpower for missile turrets to kill those damn derp ships

 Id prefer if we could use L1 to lock wjere we're looking at, then shoot at that area.
 
 We could use this to attack Tanks preemptively before they turn the corner, making them run into it, or we could spew missiles in a futile attempt(lol19 splash damage) to get infantry off us.

 Swarms used to be dumbfire, but for a very good reason (I'm not sure what, though I surmise it's obvious) it was changed to smartlock only.

 Dumbfire swarms were only a problem because of the super high level of splash damage and the radius. Dumbfire swarms would easily be reintroduced into the game no problem.
 
 That being said, we have the plasma cannon right now that pretty much is something akin to an RPG type weapon. However while the PLC is very good against shield tanks, it really does lack in terms of anti armour damage (design of the weapon).

 Dumbfire swarms are the equivalent of a mass driver shotgun
 
 Why use the MD when you can lunk off four AV shots at the enemy instead?
 
 Bonus: they even hit harder.

 They had a zero refire time allowing a full mag dump in a second.
 
 This literally destroyed everything at prototype levels as 24 missiles where rather excessive with 600 damage + splash each.
 
 The only way I would agree to seeing dumfries back if the area its hitting is so unreliable its more for suppression and spooking than killing at longer ranges and at close ranges it becomes a potential suicidal weapon.

 Old Swarms were insane. Imagine launching 4 Mass Driver shots at once, and having 3 bursts in the mag.

 That could be a fun role for DS/ADS
 
 Have someone on the ground lase a target (no damage, just mark) and have a weapon that does slow fire, heavy damage from the air. Our own version of a laser guided bomb.

 See....if you said "I want dumbfire, so I can shoot vehicles up close without lock on time" I would be willing to have a discussion. Drop Splash to basically nothing, add a refire delay so you can't dump 24 missiles in half a second, and you might be onto something.
 
 The problem is you want it to be an anti infantry weapon too. As someone aptly put, what you're asking for is a Mass Driver Shotgun that carpet bombs pretty much the general direction you're looking for. Not only would it basically make Mass Drivers completely obsolete, but it would be overpowered as hell. I laugh at the people who cry about Slayer Logis and Scouts, when they didnt experience the hell that was Dumbfire Swarms back in early Closed Beta. A single person with a nanohive and a swarm launcher could single handedly hold down an entire squad of people with nearly zero effort.
 
 The only reason the Plasma Cannon is allowed to double as Anti-Infantry is because its a single shot with a tight splash radius and poor splash damage. In other words you have to land a direct hit with a single shot in order to secure the kill, which can be difficult given the 3.5 second base reload.
 
 So if you want a balanced, low splash, dumbfire weapon that can be AV and AP? Grab a Plasma Cannon.
