Devs ! I'd like to talk to you about Vehicles, as there isn't a "PM" option on this blasted website, I shall make a thread directed towards you for everybody to see !
I am a vehicle specialists ! No, I'm not being egocentric here. I run all vehicles, and just got my 1st Proto suit ( 35 Mill Lifetime)
I have to say, you will never be able to balance vehicles. You may be able to fix weapons and Dropsuits by easily changing numbers and what not but the same rules do not apply for vehicles.
Here's a suggestion Ive been giving out for the longest:
1. Make multiple Alts
2. Have those Alts skilled into everything, One alt being skilled into Basic, the other Adv, and the last being Proto.
3. Make a separate Server, just a small private server or even extend downtime for you and your team and test it all out.
Do not say " We cannot do this as Devs aren't allowed special privileges in the game."
I've heard that reason before, you are not using that alt to slay the f@ck out of everybody, your using it for strictly testing purposes. Not only that but you are Devs. DEVS !
[*] As I've said you can change a few numbers here and there with weapons and dropsuits and fix them as they are now more balanced than they ever are, you will never be able to fix Vehicles and AV by changing numbers. Vehicles and AV are simply just to complex.

I was gonna say that this post belongs in Feedback, but after reading it, I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to accomplish in this post.
It seemed like you wanted to give some advice about vehicles, but then directed your ire to the Devs. And then just complained about them not knowing about vehicles.
Like really, WTF do you hope to accomplish with this post? A Dev going "Yes, we will all make Alts and Test Servers RIGHT NOW"?
It's not even Christmas yet dude.

You could have saved a bunch of heartache by quickly going to a CPM instead.
Logistically we cannot maintain a test client on the PSN store environment as a second product takes up 'shelf space' which costs lots of money. The second product tentatively named Dust 514 Test Server, would be able to to run in an environment where characters there cannot harm the characters of Dust 514 on Tranquility.
Thank you for your idea but we have to make do with what we have and don't have.

What's missing from the equation are capacitors and Ewar. This would enable CCP to buff the hell out of vehicles, and raise their prices dramatically. Sure you can have a tank that's a total beast, but if you get webbed and neuted out, you're probably toast and taking a 5+ million ISK loss for the match that you'll have to grind back running starter fits for the next 2 days. Without the ability to cripple vehicles, you have to keep the TTK on a vehicle really short (or they can always just escape/recall when they get in trouble if there is a long TTK). The problem is that short TTKs on vehicles sucks for everyone. Vehicles are simplistic, all fit the same, arcady, lacking much in the way of depth, tactics and strategy.
Best PvE idea ever!

Katsudon Recipe
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Yield: 1 serving
Ingredients
1 Tonkatsu
1/4 C Dashi
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1/2 Tbsp sugar
1/2 Tbsp Sake
1/2 Tbsp Mirin
1-2 eggs
green onions, chopped (optional)
Steamed Rice
roasted seaweed (Nori), thinly sliced
Instructions
1.Cut Tonkatsu into strips, set aside.
2.In a small frying pan, add Dashi, soy sauce, sugar, Sake, and Mirin, and cook at medium heat until it boils. Reduce heat to low-medium.
3.Add cut Tonkatsu to the sauce in the pan. Beat egg(s) in a small bowl and pour over the Tonkatsu. Cover and cook for 1 minute. Sprinkle chopped green onions if you like.
4.Slide Tonkatsu and egg(s) with sauce over rice in a bowl.
5.Sprinkle sliced Nori on top.
