Please, do not listen to GD about this issue! Keep calm and don't fret about all the complaints until 1 of these two things happens.
1. Someone comes up with actual math and Graphs dealing with this issue 2. Data from gameplay actually proves the point.
The reason I write this is because right now, people are not coming up with logical statements to provide evidence as to why the BAR must be nerfed. Look what happened to things that were needed out of pure fear of the player base (looking at you Callogi, AR, Flaylock, Forge Gun, etc.). Listen only to math and come up with graphs to show the imbalance. If it need be, I might even do it myself here in this thread.
And please, no flaming in this topic, I do not in any way want to defend the BAR, and I do believe the RR is in a wrong place ATM...

Truth, the only reason that I can speculate without any actual data would be...
Caldari Scouts are QQing about the damage the BAR does, when assault rifles do bonus damage to shields...
Same for Caldari Scouts (FOTM Scout). Gallente Assault Logis take more work to take out. But since the Caldari and other shield tank suits have such low armor, they melt relatively pretty quickly.

BAR is not OP. its sevearly limited on range. max range is 71m but effective range is like 50m but to be somewhat accurate you need to dump ALOT of sp into sharpshooter skill where as RR was up to 101m with effective of like 70odd meters and didnt need any huge sp dump into sharpshooting.
BAR also does not have a scope to emphasize on its CQB-ness.. AR are ment to have high dps at close range.. unlike how RR were stupidly dominant at any range from 0 to 100m
also if we were to throw in damage profiles the RR is even more effective because every one stacks armor... the AR suck against armor where as they only excell against shields..
so i put it to you mister OP, its only shield tanked scouts and shield tankers in general who are whining like little girls about the BAR when RR was OP for like a year and all you guys just defended it to hell and back .

BAR is OP because being Gallente means having **** weapons, obviously the BAR is not **** but actually doing it's job. Having the worst range isn't enough we also need to suck at cqc to claim master race status.

Speaking of changes did you guys see gal suites got there bonus back yay it comes out to around 80s for full repair of a assault suit with no plates if my math was right. It is much nicer than the 120+ sec we had it doesn't match cal uptime, but armor allows for higher hp so that makes up some of the difference.

The only thing Id do about the BAR is to reduce mag size.
RR may need a slight charge buff but overall its feels just about perfect where it is.
Maybe give the Cal Assault a kick reduc bonus instead.

If I was in charge; but I am not. mag size is fine.. however the TAR is useless now.. its mag is 1/2 that of the BAR but sucks .. if anything id increase the TAR mag and/or increase TAR damage per shot, that way gallente got a viable scoped mid to mid-long rifle.

Continue this to see the rail wont kill it anywhere in its optimal you missed the point RR is still strong now but now you cannot use the RR as effectivly in CQB as it used to be however the ARR is quite strong in cqb and is still a favourite of the RR masses for short-mid range.

And a range buff, if you wanna make it scrappy at cqc then you obviously want it to be better at long range. unless of course you just wanna nerf it for the hell of it in which case nothing you say should be taken seriously cuz your Obviously trolling

1. less DPS than any other rifle in game must make it OP
2. charge-up time must also make it OP
at 0m to 70m it is very good. at 100m you are doing +75% less damage. thats about 13 damage per shot. thats SUPER OP. we should nerf it more right? |

Because it was as good as it was at 0 to 70. No other rifle was that good. The rifles that were that good at 70 (scrambler and laser) sucked up close. The guns that were good at 0-50 sucked at 70.
The RR was very good in ALL situations. Hence nerfs. The DPS was also very high due to the accuracy at those ranges despite it being full auto.
I am not sure about the RR now. It may be overkicking in ADS by some reports. And the ARR is pretty darn good at med-short. You just can't use the SAME weapon for ALL ranges anymore. |
