I have a basic understanding of the lore, and I do care somewhat.
Though so far all it's good for is being able to read a True Adamance or Aero Yassavi post without getting lost. Well that, and the Intergalactic Summit.

I don't really know too much about the lore but I care about to the extent that it might be an interesting read (and what I have read so far has been) but if you're talking about in relation to the game then I'd take gameplay over lore any day.

People should know about the whole story of New Eden or just an intro into where the lore is right now before they get into this game.

The basics, now do I care about it, welll... Yes and no. There's no lore in DUST 514 directly, all you know is there is a way to become an "immortal soldier" and there are four races fighting for control. I will say I would recommend it, just not necessary.

I played EVE for two weeks. I can sum up my experience in one word. Tedious.
In DUST, where I am supposed to learn this"lore"? Am I supposed to go seeking it on the internet?

I care that everything in dust is explainable by lore, thats one of the reasons i fell in love with this game long ago. Everything is explainable, has a reason and real.

i read all the chronicles (see: lore) was good and gave some depth, however i wasnt impressed how some dude kileld some noble womans pet furrer and he and subsiquent males of the offenders family had to have their right hand chopped off and replaced with a gold cybernetic hand for their "crime"

Caldari civre, worked for caldari navy in motsu. worked for corperate police force in Kaimon and was deployed in black rise to fight the hypocracy that is Gal fed.. proud owner of many caldari ships including the Tengu and Golem, widow, phoenix and chimera... also had many a tour of duty in dangerous wormhole space for months at a time.
