Why is the rail rifle charge up time so much longer than it was before?
I have nothing against making the charge up time longer but not this long, it's almost unusable in its current state, by the time the rifle charges up your targets already in cover!
Please change it back CCP

Charge time isn't problem. Kick is. There should be skill like AR'S sharpshooter to reduce it a bit. Say bye bye to no zoom headshoots |

Say bye bye to no zoom headshoots I don't care about kick, i fire the RR in bursts to avoid looking upwards, which is why i'm especially annoyed that the charge time is ridiculously long, it makes firing in bursts to get kills almost impossible unless the target is a good 100m away from all cover, but considering how many random boxes there are lying around in strange places there is rarely a situation where there's no cover.

A lot of the time you don't know someone's around the corner so you don't think to charge while going around it, rail rifles were fine before this change, giving them longer charge times was completely pointless.
If CCP wanted to ruin the RR then they succeeded

They decided to hit the close range effectiveness with a bigger nerf to the charge time and a lesser nerf to the kick. I think I prefer kick though as it was only when firing from the hip and "short, controlled bursts" worked even if it wasn't ideal because of the charge. Plus, when Aiming Down Sights having to wait .6 seconds to shoot something is more annoying than trying to aim the fire hose that is hipfire Rail Rifle.

Exactly, I would rather run into cqc with my RR than sit back and wait for someone to stay out of cover for more than a second.

Simply because General Discussions feels that they shouldn't be dying in CQC to the RR. The meta of this game can be tiresome.

RIP rail rifle, for some reason CCP decides it was a good idea to completely wreck its assault capability. Double the charge up time, make the kick uncontrollable, and even the assault variant is unable to hipfire. OH, but lets make the breach AR have zero recoil or charge up time, almost an identical range, and higher DPS. Great job guys. Fix the rail rifle. |

I've seen no difference... I still use my Kaal. RR in CQC and and with range... I have not been held back, but I have been testing other weapons (BAR is a FotM and I see why) and still I prefer RR alot of the time. I have very little kick too! Then again I have it fully maxed out in skills...

That double nerf to the RR... Even the ARR has pretty crazy kick.... I mean try getting past 20 shots without it screwing up hard( ADS and hipfire) Still use it on some scout fits though |

The base Rail Rifle is almost fine as it is. The Assault Rail Rifle needs some adjustment... still kicks pretty bad in aim-down sights.

Unless it was always 51.7 damage... but I swore it was around 54 damage per shot.
