Oh hey, the terrorist state is attempting to organise again. Keyword attempting.

I'm sure it'd be more successful if some of them weren't so... odd, though. I mean, Calscout with an active scanner instead of a cloak? LP stores still need a bit of tweaking to fix. I hear the missile turret in the Cal store has its value bugged as well.
Hopefully we'll see some good fights cropping up anyway!

OB strikes have always been very profitable, it's just a shame there isn't a better infrastructure in place for getting support to fights properly.
This time last year was fresh out of the FW redesign and people were actually interested in it. Some things were buggy as hell (remember how orbitalling a friendly null cannon would get you kicked, even if you did no friendly damage?) but at least we didn't have 10 minute queue times.

Yeah, on some of the big offensives I spent over an hour running strikes in the same system sometimes. It nets bucketloads of ISK doing easy strikes like that, and when you arrive so promptly the strikes become very decisive. There's nothing quite so demoralising or crippling to your match than having your first advance vaporised while the objectives are all being gobbled up at the start.
Speaking of the 'winter wars', there was also a very entertaining glitch in the early days of the OB support. Strike requests wouldn't disappear after you fired for one. So you could have your entire team split into squad leaders, then call in 16 OBs. It needed two different strikers because you can't actually lock 16 targets with a single dessie, but 16 OBs every three minutes was obscene and made some people very very rich very quickly.
So you play EVE, then? Would you be up for a frig 1v1 sometime? Just a friendly duel in cheap t1 frigs or whatever, I like duelling DUSTers.

Jacques Cayton II wrote:Arkena Wyrnspire wrote:Oh hey, the terrorist state is attempting to organise again. Keyword attempting. Tell me why you fight? Don't lie and say for freedom. If you truly fought for freedom you'd allow the Caldari to live the way they want without oppression. You brought the terrorist cult templis dragonaors to your front door by keeping caldari prime. So whom and why do you really fight the Caldari? Is it hate? Greed? Because the state only wants 2 things from the Federation and thats caldari prime, and peace.
The Caldari state has never wanted peace.
Every eruption of this bloody conflict has been catalysed by the Caldari.
Once upon a time, the Gallente and Caldari lived side by side in peace. After the Gallente had brought the Caldari through a technological uplift, they became a founding member of what would eventually become the Federation.
Fast forward quite a bit of time and it turns out that the Caldari are disgruntled with the Federation. Why? They don't have as big a population as other members of the democratic Federation, so they don't get as much of a seat. In their search for power, they begin building colonies in secret. Many of them. An entire empire, built in secrecy from the rest of the Federation.
Then another ship stumbles across a Caldari military installation, and pandemonium.
What do you expect people to think of you when they discover you've been building a military in secret? What do you expect them to do when you secede from a previously peaceful and prosperous relationship and raze a city after they discover you've built a military in secret?
The Caldari state has always wanted power.
The Federation was content to sit behind Tripwire and leave the Caldari alone, leading to an uneasy peace for hundreds of years. Then the Caldari broke it as they jumped supercapitals in and the most recent incarnation of the war broke out as they invaded hundreds of star systems and occupied a world with a majority Gallente population that had been Gallentean for two hundred years.
Did you expect respect for your ancestral homeworld? Hypocrisy. You auctioned the ancestral homeworld of the Intaki, after brutally occupying it.
So let me ask you, you who would claim to want peace. What is it that drives the State? Hate? Greed? It is both of those things.
I fight for the Federation because I don't want to let a terrorist state have their way with my people. You mock our freedoms while you slave away under megacorporations, unwilling to see that the freedom we have is far greater than that in any other empire. Ours is the most diverse and free population in New Eden. We are not the Amarrians, who use slaves. We are not the Caldari, who are corporate slaves. We bankroll the Minmatar Republic because we believe people should be free to choose for themselves.
The Federation does not demand mandatory military service of its people. It does not throw them away as numbers on a spreadsheet. It asks them, and they have a choice.
My choice is to continue protecting those who cannot protect themselves.

sir RAVEN WING wrote: Let's start off with your claim about Caldari Prime originally being Gallente held It was inhabited by many harsh years by the Caldari before you had made note of us. We were just uniting if I remember correctly.
I never said that. I stated that for two hundred years it was a sovereign Gallente world, and the population is majority Gallente. This is entirely correct - after the first war, the planet was held by the Federation for two hundred years. There are more Gallenteans who call that planet home than Caldari.
Quote: Next our greed for power We built in secret, yes, but we did it not for power, but instead to preserve our culture. You found out and we then tried to succeed, but an extremist group bombed one of your cities killing over half a million people, and you responded with force as you had every right to. You invaded with an orbital bombardment which if I have read right would endanger countless of both sides, more innocent than anything else. We then distracted your navy for the time it took to evacuate the innocents. One of our admirals 'heroically sacrificed' himself in what you call the Hueromont Incident. Also little bonus, we had colonies and resources, not a military if I remember correctly (I'm reading the damn wiki while writing this!)
You did have a military. The secret colonies formed the backbone of it. It's no wonder that the Gallenteans had a collective heart attack when they stumbled across a massive secret military. Hiding colonies for 'cultural' reasons is one dubious thing, building a military force in secret is quite another. It's honestly a terrible shame that the tensions should have broken so violently. There was a real possibility of a peace settlement before Nouvelle Rouvenor. It's interesting that you should so repeatedly denounce the Templis Dragonaurs as extremists when they've literally run your government.
Quote: Now to your question: What drives the empire? Well for one, the desire to better itself, and two, we want to be culturally pure. (We want to keep our culture pure)
On to the part about us being slaves, we are not slaves, we work hard, yes we do, but working hard just makes you a stronger individual, not a slaves. We work for the future of the state not for our own personal goals. In fact we are characterized by being diligence and unselfish, hard working, and dutiful. You are selfish, we are not.
I'm sorry, I actually had to suppress laughter while reading this. You think the megacorporations are all about the betterment of all, do you? Caldari politics are perhaps the most cut-throat, shadowy affairs of any of the empires. Your little list of values is very cute, but wildly inaccurate. The boardroom executives occupy their free time with whoring and wandering between their luxury resorts. The folks at Ishukone are the only people from the State I would believe capable of the values on your list - they have some fine people. Naturally, that resulted in them getting put under pressure by the Provists.
To claim that your people are not selfish is wildly inaccurate. What is it that drives a man from the foundries to assassinating political rivals and ruling with an iron fist? Sure as hell wasn't a desire for the greater good. Heth was a lunatic, and the State's actions for the past few years have reflected that. His bloody legacy is a long way from being cleared up.
Quote:We are happy to serve, and we must have soldiers. So now I ask you to stop twisting facts and mixing them with propaganda. Thank you for the time spent reading the truth. P.S I put little to no propaganda in this so do not come back at me with propaganda and say my words are propaganda.
No matter how much you claim that your words are purely fact and not propaganda, that does not make them so. Twisting facts? I challenge you to find factual inaccuracies. The only ones you've attempted so far are due to your misunderstandings.
Quote: Do you really understand what a terrorist government is? Tibus heths government was all about preserving the Caldari and getting caldari prime back. A real terrorist government would have killed every gallente on Caldari Prime and within the state. But instead were detained for their own protection. Without force we wouldn't have been able to get Caldari Prime back. Now say the roles were switched and gallente Prime was under caldari rule, but no matter how you ask their government wont hand it over. What would you do to reclaim your home?
Tibus Heth's government was the harshest rule in New Eden, and I include the Empire in that assessment. The Templis Dragonaurs, who you keep claiming were just an edge extremist group, comprised a significant portion of your government. You literally had terrorists in your government, reignited an age old war as the aggressors, and threatened the glassing of billions while beginning a military crackdown on a majority Gallentean population.
How, exactly, is that not terrorism?
Do you consider it justified because Caldari Prime was your home? Do you believe that people should show respect because of that?
When you took the Intaki homeworld, you auctioned it. And you expect people to respect a claim outdated by centuries to a world that doesn't even have that many of your people on it? The people there rioted when you invaded their planet and started martial law. The people who actually lived there never wanted you there.

The Templis Dragonaurs backed Heth's rule.
The Intaki homeworld debacle is a few years old now, luckily it was liberated by Gallente forces before much could happen. I suggest you read thoroughly up on the lore instead of bring the wiki up for arguments, though. I guarantee you that you'll get a much better picture of things.
