fucks sake you want more than hotfixes?
If you haven't noticed, dust has quite a bit more lifespan if people pay for it.
Tell us how to get you to pay a few bucks to CCP. I already do. I'm rank 10 fucks sake...i'm here.
I want patches.
You want patches?
You saw what was in 1.9.
Would you like more where that came from?
Show CCP you want more development by buying some ****.
Tell us what more you want...and preferably something I don't need a patch to actually make (that would defeat the purpose...)
CCP needs to come out and tell you guys more, but as i've said elsewhere I'll reiterate.
I am VERY satisfied where the game is going, and so long as people choose to buy enough **** I think we've got a lot in store for us.
Ratatti isn't just good at hotfixing balance ****...This guys got vision.
And so long as people give him the ability to...he's not going to let you down.
OMG. So much is wrong with that post i'm nauseous.

yeah really. AFAIK, dust 514 is no kickstarter thing. And a CPM pretty much saying "buy stuff if you like it or no game for you" is really shocking imo. Especially in the light of what this year has brought on this player base, or what remains of it, monetizing before showing any kind of real transparency on what the future holds, something definite, is imo more than insulting to the ppl who still have a bit of trust.
It's not 4 patches that will make the red keynote go away and hope everyone will sing kumbaya and throw money at CCP.
So yeah. REALLY

Is that really surprising ? Can someone blame them ?

Same old speech i was giving to ppl 2 years and a half ago. Result ?
It's amazing to even consider CCP counting on players to rebuild their game. They had money, they invested, they developed, they failed. Many reasons to that, and it's not really the fault of those in charge now. But that doesnt change anything to the problem here. The one who is SELLING something is CCP.
The one who damaged this game and its community is CCP.
The one that needs to make amend and invest, or let go. And in any case be open and transparent about it, is CCP.
Saying otherwise would be dishonest

I remember the original potential back in beta too, and yes CCP did bugger this game up for quite a while but that does seem to have changed with the updates and communication by the current Dust team Question for you and other vets: If what we have now was released as Uprising 1.0, how would you feel about Dust and would you recommend it to others. Holding onto the past is never a good thing and holding the current Dust team accountable for the previous teams wrongs is like blaming your current partner for your ex's faults. I would like to point out that this community has been pretty ducking terrible and should not be absolved of partial blame for the hole we (yes "we", CCP, CPM and the community) are slowly climbing out of.
I always recommended Dust, starting day one, to people for the sole reason that what they were trying to do meant something to me. And i would have done it even harder if 1.9 had been 1.0. But there are things you just cant forgive, nor forget. And especially not with the tiny amount of work done since compared to the HUUUUUUUGE amount of feedback that has been fed to them over the course of 2 years.
A little progress is a sign of good faith. Not a redemption. No matter who faulted in the first place, it's those in charge NOW that pay for it. Sad truth. And the first thing they should do is NOT DO THE SAME F*IN mistakes, AK over monetizing, under-delivering, not communicating.
"I would like to point out that this community has been pretty ducking terrible"
Why exactly ? Is there a gaming community that is all nice and cool and balanced ? Name one. Did that prevent other companies from doing amazing games with those broken, never satisfied communities ? No.
Again, there's a party SELLING a game. And another one BUYING the game, and thus entitled to whatever opinion\rant it has. AFAIK, no player ever decided what to balance, what to prioritize, etc... And truth be told, if it had been the case, game wouldnt be in such a bad shape.
And dude... we were a bad community ? Really ? Name one other game that had so many resources, apps, websites, organizations created in such very short time ? Aside from the massive AAA that exists for a decade now and have tv commercial and **** ? There aint much. CCP was blessed with that community. It had white noise, but also a ton of bright and invested people.
I wont accept anything close to saying that the community plays a role in dust not succeeding. i reject that idea totally. CCP developped, CCP didnt listen feedback as it should have been, CCP kept a flawed team and management on that game for too long, refusing to see warning signs, so now i'm not gonna praise them for 5 month of work.
I still have friends on Dust514, ppl i've known for 7 years and i feel sorry for them. Most of them spend 200+ euros on dust, some waaaaaaaay more. So now what ? they should keep giving without knowing anything for sure ? Just for the sake of a possible bright future ? The same they were promised before ?
get out of here....

Thang Bausch wrote:I'm not about to speculate beyond the "CCP is a business so they need to make money" reason, but I will say that monetization of the game was one of the many things they had failed to implement correctly in this game. You know the devs had failed when they couldn't even monetize the game right. As rattati and crew have fixed many of the problems with the game, they have finally started to do some work to fix the monetization of it.
Are they milking us before a shut down, prepping for legion, justifying legion, etc? Can't say for sure until we see how the future plays out.
Cant argue. Been said over and over and over again for 2 years. With examples, and suggestions from the community.....
=> Dead letter.

Make no mistake, I do sincerely appreciate your passion. Whilst I don't know nor care about other game communities I can't imagine many would have had a regional server shut down in a similar manner as this "great" community did with the Oceania server, but I digress. We all have different perspectives and opinions and whilst I understand yours, our opinions and perspectives differ considerably. Stay bitter, vet o7
LOL, so now the community is responsible for oceania server being shut down ? Here i was thinking it was low as f**k player count from no communication and bad release planning. And you dont care about other communities ? lol, you're the one saying this one was ****, so you probably have something to compare it with right ? Otherwise why are you even talking about it ?
oh well...
And our opinion and perspective differ considerably ? Re-read my previous message and you might consider not saying this. Otherwise you're pretty much saying that this community sucked and should only blame itself for the game failing.
Stay bent over, fan boy o7
