I'm sure this issue had been brought up before. No no, it's definitely been brought up before, but seeing as how nothing about it has changed I feel like I should bring this issue to light once more.
The Assault HMG needs a tighter reticle. Plain and simple.
It does more damage than a normal HMG at a distance, the problem is actually applying the damage.
With the normal and burst variants, their reticle sizes work due to their engagement ranges being right in your face. It's easy to apply maximum damage with these two variants.
However, the Assault HMG has the exact same reticle size, so when firing at enemies at a distance, lots of bullets are going to miss, gimping it's damage output.
To apply maximum damage, you need to get closer, but in that case you're better off with one of the other variants.
The Assault HMG needs a tighter reticle to really utilize it's range advantage.

What's wrong with that statement?
At 41m(max optimum for STD Assault HMG)
The Assault does it's max 13.5 damage.
The normal does about 58% of it's max damage for about 10.5 damage.
Is there something wrong here I'm not aware of?

Far too many shots are missing the target. Tighter dispersion, and IMO less kick, would allow good damage application but low DPs, while the burst is high DPs with bad damage application.
Yeah, that's exactly what I'm addressing, so I don't really know what Breakin Stuff is talking about in regards to his eye twitching. Maybe he should see a doctor.
