If you are going to offer new ways for players to spend their many, we deserve to know what the future of Dust really is. I know all about Legion but I really will not be buying a PC just to play Legion. Is there any chance Dust will make it to PS4?

If DUST still has a decent lifetime left is it possible for it to come to PS4?

Porting a game as complex as DUST to PS4 is a huge undertaking and is currently not on our roadmap.

So I would not count on a PS4 version of Dust or Legion. CCP Rouge said in a previous interview that if Legion (PC) did well then they would consider porting it to PS4.

That is just sad to read. I really do enjoy this game, but hearing comments like this I can't help but feel disappointed. It makes me not want to invest much into this game. Then again it makes me wonder why they would put so much effort into making the changes they have been just to shut it all down. A real current answer would be nice. It would make or break some of my decisions on buying aurum. In my days on Earth, I've learned that being honest just makes things easier. How much money could CCP be missing out on by people like me who just want an answer before investing their time and money in something. Then again how much money would they lose if they told us they do plan on pulling the rug out from under us after their last ditch attempt at selling fancy items.

We could speculate all day, but you see how an honest answer would clear up a lot of threads. I just hope the honest answer isn't what this dude said in the quote.

It just doesn't make sense to me on why they would make so many positive changes if they plan on shutting it down. Beta testing for Legion? Eh I guess, but there has to be a better future for Dust.

Really, how much harder is it to port it to ps4 than it is to spend the past few months making all the tweaks you have been?

First, this answer is current... it is less than a week old. That dude is CCP Rouge, the EP for Dust 514/Legion. He is steering the ship that is Dust 514/Legion development right now. If he says Dust 514 isn't coming to PS4 then it isn't.

Speaking to the "why are they updating Dust 514 if they are going to shut it down?": well we don't know when Legion will even be in an alpha testing state. 2015? 2016? Until then CCP can continue to iterate on Dust 514, learning things from it, and entertaining us. Plus, like you mentioned, Dust can serve as a primitive Legion-beta.

According to CCP Rouge, we get to keep our progression if Legion becomes a game. What's the harm in playing Dust now then migrating to Legion?

Thats a bummer about no PS4, but by what you said about Legion dates, if they confirmed another 2 years of Dust, that would be an incentive to invest time. Every thread has no concrete future of time for Dust but a simple "hey, we got another 2+ years would be some form of reassurance. It'll be interesting to see where it goes, I like the game enough to see where this ride takes me. I just remember reading here-say in another thread about Feb 2015, but even taking everything with a grain of salt, if that were true, I'd feel real stupid if I bought that elite pack and the game shut down a few months later. A solid answer would help a lot of people. Weeding through forum drama opinions go every which way. If a Dev gave a solid prediction of lifespan, it would really be nice. If they already have, I apologize and just haven't come across it yet.

The CPM just had a meeting with CCP last night where we spoke very congenially and affably about the need to keep the community abreast of what's going on inside their heads.

No apology necessary, CCP has not commented on the current state of Legion development and/or Dust's "lifespan" anywhere. CPM1 knows more, but NDA's are a *****. Honestly man, if we are going to hear anything about the future it will be at fanfest 2015. That's March 19 - 21. Keep your fingers crossed CCP Rouge gives us some news.

I hope this encompasses Legion's future as well as Dust 514.
