I have been trying out suit and weapon combinations from assault too commando and yesterday I decided the only way to beat a scout is to learn what its like to be a scout. WTF. I have only been doing this cloak, SG scout combo for two days and I am hooked. Once I get my aim down with a SG and yes it does take certain aiming skills. I am used to distance, just have to get used to getting close. Might even try Nova Knives next. All I can say is it will not take me much longer and I will have the perfect stealth setup.
I have died and what I have learned. Reload, I am not kidding I have forgotten to reload, many times. Its hard to run speed scout and try to see everyone, almost impossible. I love killing cloaked scouts, but I have died for a few have gotten me when I was mid kill. Heavies are to easy to kill, snipers are a joke, and the only challenge so far is from bunched up groups. I have cleared a room but they have to be distracted and the dominoes go, logi, heavy, reload, assault, assault, and then the bold scout comes to save everyone scout. The scout gets it because they are not expecting a heavily dampened scout. BAM. I cloak and run off.
Just too easy. Well I am going to keep running the role until I get bored. Please give a suggestion of the next role, suit, or weapon I should try.
Have you tried dual SMG cloaked scout yet with dampeners? It gives a little better range then the shotgun, and isn't as much of an "instant win" button as the shotgun either. I find it very rewarding, personally.

I'm a compulsive reloader. Even during the smallest of breaks in fighting I'll reload (if I think there's enough time) and sometimes I'll reload multiple times during a fight as I strafe around cover. It's always nice when the enemy ends up having to reload out in the open in the middle of the fight while I still have enough ammo in the clip to finish them off.
Same here. I'll reload even if I accidentally discharge one or 2 rounds on an AR or SMG. And it's a hard habit to break when you try out the HMG, let me tell you.
