...when they kill a militia suit? In a match yesterday, our team was getting stomped (one of those one-sided matches), so after a while I said "F*** it" and flew up to a mountain to snipe. I got the most kills i've gotten sniping (8, lol I suck) and looking back, most of them were militia suits.
I kinda felt bad after realizing that. What if they really were new players? Do you ever feel bad? Even a little?

I do that alot. If I see a militia frame = I pretend to miss every shot and bam I'm dead.
I won't complain because we were all once new players. :)
MAG Raven vet 7 times. Favorite weapon F90 and Highest Kills 78 and 23 deaths.

I speak or all proto stompers in DUST, now and the ones that are in DUST 514 heaven when I say, no. We do not care, you're nothing more that a +1 in my KDR and you better not respawn on that CRU. HTFU and get gud scrub!
At one point in time I was you and I didn't like it, so I grinded my ass off and worked my way up in SP so I can stomp you no skill fucks into the redline. |

I spare no red! I do wish to 'miss' them only hitting them once or twice (That would put them near 34 armour 0 shields) but they must learn to kill the others who try, as a easter egg once said "One learns best from killing real people."

Militia suits are damn near worthless why should you feel bad for killing them. If you want to feel bad you should feel bad when killing proto suits because then you are actually depriving people of money.

Only if I see them doing really, really bad.
If they're actually shooting at stuff, then no. I only have 80ish shields and 150ish armor. They have the power to kill me with less than half a clip of a militia assault rifle.
Plus, what if they're awesome players disguised in militia frames? |

Yeah this is something i do sometimes too. If I end up killing them at the end, atleast they almost killed me, so thats more encouraging than when you have no chance at all. Its happened sometimes that im in a cheap fit and im like "ah what the hell" and let a new player kill me. Then I check the end of scoreboard match and see that they went 1-8. I was their only kill.
Costs me a few thousands ISK ill make back at the end of the match and some loss to a kdr i dont care about. But to someone whos 1-8, and your free kill was their only kill, maybe its enough to encourage them to stick around for another game. Its insignificant to me, but that could have been the highlight of their match. |

A little bit, especially if it's the same guy multiple times. But on the other hand...they're shooting at me and clearly want me dead, while I want to be not dead and have the letter stay blue. If it's the same guy more than two or three times, he should just get the picture and stop challenging me and push either somewhere else or with more support. |

This is what I did when I first started playing, the problem is you can only really only do this in Skirmish and that mode is currently dominated by scouts. Your only real hope as a noob is to either join a good squad of players and ride their coattails or to hopefully get put into a battle without a full squad of proto stompers. **** is rough but it was that way for everyone starting out.
At least you now have MLT variants of all the weapons, I couldn't use anything starting out until I put some SP into it. |

I do feel bad sometimes for killing newbros, particularly if they do the same thing more than once and it leads to their death multiple times. |

I refuse to play anything but Skirmish, as I find Domination boring and one-sided, and Ambush equally terrible. Sure, it may be dominated by Scouts/Sentinels...but it's still better than dealing with a 16-man blob. |

Well, it all happens so fast so it is really hard to tell who is who on what suit. So, no, I don't feel bad because they would kill me if I didn't kill them first. What I do find fun however is using my basic scout with a basic shotgun or basic bolt pistol and killing a very expensive proto suit. |
