This post is probably gonna sound more dramatic then I intend it to, so let me preface this by saying this a relatively calm decision I've made.
The most recent episode of South Park caused me to have a minor ethical debate with myself. Is it possible Dust 514 new cash grab mentality could prey on the wallets of a tragically addicted handful? No that's silly, maybe I'm overreacting. etc. And it went on long enough with myself, that I thought, hmm I could mull over this problem for a long time, or, I could just cash out.
It's a self-compromise to help me make an exit from Dust. So, my apologies to any blueberries I'm going to redicucrush over the coming month. I just can't turn my back on all that CanaDough.

We have asked CCP for ways to customize our merc quarters, "paint jobs" for our dropsuits, BPOs, respecs, and ways to earn skill points faster for a long time now... CCP provided those things for a cost... because they are a for-profit business.
Also, I recommend burning through all of your ISK for the hell of it at least once a month. Make ****-fits, blow it all on hookers and proto gear, buy that Minmatar skin rug you have been telling yourself you don't want but it would really bring the room together...

This isn't a bad Idea, I will probably spend time in FW when I can actually que for it in reasonable amounts of time. However, I "believe" having my proto suits die to the enemy team in pub matches raised their ISK payout slightly (been playing this game a year and strangely, still don't have the total formula for ISK payouts).

It took venery 1 month to go through 100mil isk using cal logi viziam back when you could overheat glitch tell us when you hit 0

Sometimes I wonder if even CCP has that formula.......
Edit: Oh and if you're going to give some away my wallet has been below 20 mil since I gave away that 300 mil I got from the uprising buyout (I do a lot of stupid sh!t like driving a tank through the enemy redline while ignoring them completely just to see how far I can make it but that was back when they were expensive.... now I try to crash ADS's into the enemy infantry for the hell of it from time to time.)

Just to head of any more of the same natured posts, I am currently NOT making plans to be give ISK away directly. If however, you think you can use a proto heavy (HMG or Forge Gun) on your team, or someone to crash a dropship somewhere, feel free to look me up.
Also, in case it's not obvious, I won't merc against Tso's in PC. In pubs, however, I might donate militia tanks to squadmates in pubs with me, depending on battlefield circumstances.

You needed to see a comedy series with varying levels of pretentiousness and hypocrisy to be concerned that a product could be getting higher profit from people who are addicted to said product?

Btw, this is similar to how I quit smoking pot. I got to a point where I realized it was impacting my life and decided I was going to quit. I still had quite a stash and I had an upcoming fishing trip so I brought the whole thing on my trip, made brownies and green dragon, basically chained smoked with my buddies for four days. At the end of the trip I was literally sick of it and I haven't had any since nor have I felt tempted.

It's quite easy to get your money back once you hit 0 isk (I did the same thing a few months back... Actually I've done it twice, back up to a steady 40-60 mil now though) it's actually a lot more fun running the free suit and having to work against the isk balance, than the usual "low money, better farm some cash so I can spam stuff in a tough match" mentality.
Personally I think isk should be a factor in winning battles... It would balance the proto vs cheap suit issues people have, because then losing a suit would actually effect the battle instead of just some guys ego before he pops another expensive fit. |
