What if scanners showed your position to the enemy team while they are light up? In effect, you would light up yourself when using active scanners.
This would certainly bring in a more tactical approach to using them, no?
Even if a fully dampened scout used a Duvolle Focused, they would light up. This would enable those who are tired of getting scanned to do something about it, as well.
Also, because the risk to using them would be greater, rewards should be increased as well. +35 WP instead of +15 would be decent, I would think flor the Intel Kill Assists.
I don't know. It's just a random thought that came to me. What do you guys think? |

OR, you could just remove the "You have been scanned" message entirely. Problem solved. Dude, you get passive scanned ALL THE TIME by scouts and other suits, but you just don-¦t realize it because you don-¦t get a message saying "You have been passive scanned". You may ask yourself why, simple answer, cause you will have that message stuck on your screen probably 80% of the match if youre in the front lines. I think active scanner is FINE the way it is. I played matches in 1.9 and its a LIE that you get permascanned ALL THE TIME, i run m+¬dium suits and no dampeners and if i get scanned two or three times a match thats saying to much and i usually run frontline, so yeah.
By the way, showing the scanner merc to the scanned merc, hell no, why? same reason i don-¦t see on my Tacnet the scout that just passive scanned me.

I think the changes to passive scans might be a bit more difficult than removing the message "You Have Been Scanned".
Also, passive scans are at their peak with max passives and modules, while actives allow you to bypass all that for a certain area with a few other minor tradeoffs.
Anyways, I'm trying to focus on Active Scanners here instead of Passives. There are other threads for passives that have awesome suggestions for "modifying" passives. Some are great, others not so great, but they're there. Please try to focus on Active Scanners, newbros, squads, and the like. Thank you. |
