Make the dropships faster! Make them easier to handle and make them have flares! To combat this make it so that swarm launchers have a better version for dropships! Maybe even make them JUST for dropships, make them deal WAY more damage, with prototype taking the dropship down in 1 hit, but give the people in the dropship a short time to exit before it explodes, maybe 2-3 seconds, the points from destroying the ship would be enough to make the AA guys happy! To combat the fact that people will use flares, run and wait for them to regenerate make them on a BIG cool down and make it so that maybe you get slowed down by using flares (?)

I feel like you genuinely meant the best with this, so I commend you for trying.
But, you must be new here, because those of us who have been here even just a month or two ago know that this is most likely a bad idea. AV players complain all the time that they only get the vehicle kill, they already aren't satisfied with how they don't get WP for the kills of everyone on board a vehicle--although I rarely survive if jump out, then it only counts as me suiciding as my DS lands on my head or prevents me from activating my inertia dampener.
On top of that pilots have trouble with the swarms and infantry rendering already (I haven't played 1.9 yet so i don't know if this is fixed), so the prototype swarms would be near inescapable.
Edit: This could be a good, but unpopular idea as well. Who really knows.

I'm new to the forums yes, but I've been playing the game off and on since shortly after it came out, I agree that it's difficult to take down a dropship already, and it's also difficult to survive in them, I have been on both ends of the equation, I think this game should be like battlefield in a lot of ways personally, a skilled pilot in Battlefield can live for an ENTIRE match without getting shot down, and it sucks when that happens, but that comes only with skill, as does taking down dropships. I think the defining characteristics of this game should be that 1: you pay for your equipment 2: the market system (that they need to work on) 3: the HUGE amounts of customization and options 5: you need skill to use stuff, and 5: the connected universe of EVE and DUST 514. I think that in many ways this game would benefit from more of a "Battlefield" approach to how the game plays. I like this game (disputed it's plethora of flaws), and as with my other articles, I just wanna see it be easier to pick up and play, but hard to master. I've recieved quite a bit of flak on my other articles and I appreciate that your post is actually nice, thank you |
