What would be the best Light Assault suit to use in-game? I'm not looking for OP eWar or screwy hitboxes, but something with decent HP and speed. My choices are:
Gallente Scout
Caldari Scout
Amarr Scout
Minmatar Assault
Caldari Assault |
Zindorak

Caldari Scout.
Reasoning: It is the most agile suit with great shield regen. You can throw in damps for a stealth assault, or kin cats for speed and mobility.
Pick one, not both (for the low slots, that is).
I only have it at ADV, but use the AUR PRO, and I gotta say, it is superior to my Caldari Assault in almost every single way.
And with a Duvolle Specialist AR, it tears other scouts and mediums. |

Your right. I have both assault and scout to proto and its sad the assault still loses out.

Ahh, so the Caldari Scout beats out the Caldari Assault. Kind of the opposite for the Minmatar Scouts and Assaults. By the way, what are your takes on the Minmatar Assault.
How does that stack up to the Caldari Scout? I've been hearing it can get near Scout-like speeds with anywhere from 800-900 total HP. |

Min Assault is very good aswell as Caldari Scout. Gal Scout is slightly worse than Caldari Scout
Ima skill into Minass and CalScout when i get my 750k SP

The Gallente Scout sounds promising, but from what I understand, even the PRO variant cannot exceed 300 shields, and if I want to really tank it, won't I need to fill all the low slots with plates and even an armor repairer? |

I have proto Gal Scout base sheilds for me are 80 but i don't see a need to as you can run Precision enhancers to seeeeee everyone

I have proto MinAssault and I love it. I think you should play an assault suit if you want to play assault ^^ Minmatar one is really good for it!
I don't like using a scout for assaulting as this is not what they are meant for.

I'd rather have radio scan as Caldari, but seeing all goes invisible as you like love ...
With the Caldari scout, it serves you see farther if you do not see what is important ...
I mean for me now as this game, the best outfit to go hunting is the scout love ...

I run my scout with full shield + B-AR, reactives and it works pretty well.

Min Assault is great for shield regen but sucks for purely shield tanking. So glass cannon play style is mandatory.
The Caldari Assault is good but you really need to have skills to make it worth.
I personally think the Amarr Scout is very underated. Even with three enhanced armor plates it's just as agile as a Minmatar Assault but with way more HP and a ton more Stamina. Stamina is important for crossing the map and during long gun fights against other players that like to get in your face.
My suggestion is to use each of the militia variants fir a while. If you hate the militia variant you're gonna hate the suit in general, and if you love the suit you're gonna love it in general too.
Put your flags up in the sky.
And wave them side to side.
Show the world where you're from.
Show the world we are one.

You can get up to 220-ish shields with the Gallente Scout, iirc.
And I think around 600-ish armor. 450-ish if you use a combination of regular plates, and Reactives. |

Cal scout is more like a suit you'd used to get hunted by light assault.
But besides that your list is really solid.
Some adv/proto cal assault have so much shielding that you'd probably run out of bullets in an SMG clip before you kill them.(And they're pretty fast because no armour needed) A bit OP you could say.
If snipers and scouts were removed for a day: This would be a one-day Dust version Pax Romana.

You are light, fast, and can get a good amount of HP while maintaining mobility. Also the stamina and regeneration of it are sweet c:

Min assault is pretty damned fun IMO.
As a racial Assault(if you're a Min player by heart) it's a wonderful Assault.
Bad thing though is the Projectile nerf.(yeah i call it a nerf when a Bk-42 can't take down a C-1 scout with 220/180 without 3-5 clips being used) Run an Ion Pistol or a Flaylock/AR combo, the bonus isn't all that OMGSPAZWOW as i wish it was.
at all ranks you have equal Hi/Lo slots, so it's a treat to fit out, because it can so easily go from Armor tanking to Shield tanking, and can even universally fit mods(my fit i'm throwing about is 2 extenders, dmg mod, recharger, 2 plates, damp, shield regulator)
At prototype you can fit 810 armor (little PG left, so can't twinbricktank it, but it's a nice thing to see) or 460 shield, and can go anywhere in between with little to no problems.
