Ban protos from publics. Proto stomping must stop. These nobodys who run proto in publics couldn't even open a paper bag without their precious proto gear. Leave them only for factionals and pcs. This is what takes the fun out of playing this game.

Often, it is not Prototype gear that results in a win but rather Squads and Tactics. If you think back to scenarios where you died, there are not all that many times where you can safely say "He killed me because he was Prototype and I wasn't." It usually only happens in stand still fights where the opponent out DPS's and/or out tanks you.

I was once on a crazy proto kill streak for a day. Killed like 3 proto heavies in a row with a basic Cal sent. They saw me, they engaged me, for some reason I out strafed those 1k armor tanking yahoos.
Then a different game there was a camping proto scout Ako who was using this one redberry who was stuck into the environment as bait. He killed me once with a shotgun, I went back to the area, right before I went to kill the bait I did a random jump, charged my Ion pistol, turned around mid jump, boom head shot. I went wild because I just went for a blind shot,He was still cloaked I didn't even see him, I just shot when the cross hair turned red. |

I too get annoyed by protos but I would be lying if I said that I dont use them myself from time to time. However it is very gratifying killing expensive protos with cheap blueprint gear, even if I do go KDR negative.
Get the remotes out, get the plasma cannons out, get your forge guns out and splat the little f**kers.

I run proto in pubs all the time, and so do the people I run with in squads. Particularly if faced with defeat.
However, we'd probably stomp you in starter suits too.
What would you rage about then? Squads being OP? Teamwork and communication and situation awareness is OP?
There are counters to proto suits, and I would suggest you figure them out rather than rage. It's a much more productive use of your time. |

Maybe relax a bit I like killing proto suites and what you should ask for is an event no proto week or something cause they are not going to ban proto suits.

I see a lot of complaints about proto stomping, but I never see complaints about "Core stat stomping". There's no better way to burn through ISK than a gutless proto suit fitting. Core stats > proto suits and weapons, and the same players that beat up on you in pubs now still would in their advanced rigs, it would just lower the amount of ISK won at the end of battle.

Proto never once broke this game.
It has always help make the game worth playing.
Yesterday was Proto-Centric gameplay, and I LOVED it.
Yesterday, was imho, the Best Day that Dust has EVER had.
I haven't been that fired up about Dust, since the old school corp battles.
I wanted to try hard.
But it was serendipity. A happy accident.
Now, we're back to...... this.
Set your goals high, and shoot for the moon; even if you miss you'll land amongst the stars.

Remove Proto suits and you will get stomped by squads of very good ADV players.

Although i disagree with you thinking proto players can't do well in pubs without there proto despite many corps in the past have done STD runs and just curb stomped in pubs and have it recorded. Proto players wear proto for a reason because they are good enough to use it efficiently.
That being said i think it would not be bad to limit pubs to STD and Adv and throw proto into FW and PC.

I have more than enough ISK to run full proto for the rest of my Dust career, but I don't. I run standard and advanced in pubs, advanced and proto in FW, and full proto in PC (which I haven't done in 4 months). It's more of the principal of the matter than anything.
I'm not here defending the use of all proto, all the time. I'm just saying that most of the proto stompers have more money than god, and also get funded by their corps to do so. Money means nothing to them, and they are squaded up with talented players, so why wouldn't they run the best gear possible? For teh lulz and teh QQ.
I would do the same if I was them, however I am not them, and I get no joy out of curbstomping redberries. My joy comes from doing better than them on the battle field and the leaderboard, running solo in basic and advanced gear, while popping their tanks and mass driving their shiny proto suits.
That said, squad based gameplay is the only way to roll in this game. Playing solo, unless you really know what you are doing, is insanely difficult and extremely frustrating. Grab a squad of like minded individuals and have some fun! 'Tis but a game after all!

I kill proto's pretty often and fairly easily unless their in large groups. Thats what re's are for...those groups of them that are hunting me cause i had the audacity to spawn in a game they were in. **** off and stop chasing me mean people!- Rocks back and forth with visions of being hunted-

I usually go with a bpo fit its very obvious they're all proto; that way even if I do kill one of these proto stompers (I generlaly get 4 or 5 of them) i definitely win the isk war.
Pub matches payouts are pretty low still and killing a proto just once can set them back the entire match. So when you kill em 8-10 times :D

When i run proto its because i simply NEED that 3rd Low on my minja.
If we could make all suit tiers have the same slot counts i would be able to run a 2 basicdamp 1 basic range minja instead of going mental and stuffing full proto down your throat.

wtf is wrong with these people. i get in pubs squads where i hear dudes talk so much crap about: i never run proto, or: look at these scubs running proto. in fact, you are the scrub! the biggest scrubs of the game! why the fk would i not run a proto logi with a rep tool, needle, hive, uplink? instead i should only run a suit where i only have a 35/s rep tool and a 30% needle? how does that help my team win at all? why the fk would i not want 200 more armor or shields, or 10% more damage? why the fk did i invest 20 mil skill points in cores (did you even raise your cores?), suits, and equipment? why the fk can't you run proto? i don't understand! you are like those asian kids i used to play street fighter with at my local 7-11, who said no throws or throwing fireballs because they are cheap |

Your problem with proto stomping is the same as my problem with scouts, the only difference is that I have found my method of dealing with my problem. What am I saying? I'm saying find a way to kill them or maybe just run starters like I sometimes do until you have dealt with them. Can't? Then leave the match and find a new one.

Me personally , I don't care about people running PRO fits because 9 times out of 10 the team I'm on is loosing anyway because their random running around , uncoordinated , confused , shooting at each other while throwing grenades as well , not covering each others flank and wearing all light and scout suits or not grabbing some AV when confronted by HAV's or ADS's .
Pro is not the reason that I can't have fun , it's random players that just don't know how to work together for anything and then wonder why everything is red .
Thank you Rattati , the DEV crew and the CPM for getting the job of 1.9 done .

I agree and I always think , " Hell you have legion already going to the PC , what the frack else do you people want .?., oh yeah .. everything ... just the way that YOU like it . You have legion , try that $h!T with that and see how that goes for you but leave Dust alone and let them fix this $h!t , not add ANOTHER headache ." It's just sad the lengths that these people want and will go .

The higher your ewar core skills and the better the gear the easier the game becomes, so little tactics are applied.
It isn't just gear levels that oppress your abilities.
I could say that stats being indverse the higher the gear level goes imbalances the game a bit.
It would be nice if we could mess around a bit with stats and make it where everything basic is the most efficient and everything proto is the most powerful.
Just test it with some weapons, suits, certain modules etc.
If snipers and scouts were removed for a day: This would be a one-day Dust version Pax Romana.
