Id rather have active scanner spam than passive scanner spam. At least this way i can tell when someone is scanning me, and that it isn't an a-hole scout that I have to deal with.

I suspect you already know this, but lest some get the wrong impression, outside of the change while the cloak is engaged (which is easy enough to mitigate by coming out of cloak every few seconds), nothing was done to passive scanning. |

The reason for the active scanner comeback is tied to the needle nerf. Next to nobody asks for help making it a wasted slot. It is better for any logi to run 2 scanners, 1 triage and 1 ammo hive.

She means that Scanners 514 has always been around due to the fact that after the ACS nerfs people decided to flock to Scouts and used Passive Scanners, which didn't have such a message.
Now that people use ACSs again, you receive that message upon being scanned.

This game's EWAR mechanic is completely broken. It's an "all or nothing" system that doesn't balance well in moment-to-moment gameplay. |

What does it matter at this point?
If that message is always on, you can just always be aware.
If you would have assumed the same thing without the message before, you would behave in the same way you are now.
You didn't need these changes in order to have adapted accordingly.
1.9 Where cloaked scouts give way to tanked scouts. Problem solved?

Active Scanners themselves have never left, but being scanned 24/7 was.
Every single match, I was either the scanner with 3 others providing scans for the whole team, or the Intel Kill Assist. Sometimes, both.
As with the nerf to scouts, most never run dampeners. So a nerf to most scouts. This is good.
I'm really loving patch day. I've missed the glorious shitstorm. |
