That's also a misconception. The Caldari were never Gallentean. They were most assuredly a part of the Federation but consistently attempted to preserve their cultural and economic independence in the face of the Federation levying profits from their Caldari corporations to fund the efforts of less profitable and productive worlds.

The Railgun as I understand it was a technology the Gallente possessed when they made contact and inducted the Caldari into their Federation, however after the Caldari were caught up to speed it is reasonable to suggest that anything they did using their understand that level of technology was purely of Caldari origin..... probably one of the reasons why their technology is so functionally and aesthetically different.

Yet another attempt to preserve their cultural purity.

I did the math once and found that the gallente fitting bonus applied to the rail rifle because it wasn't using as much pg as it should have at the time. Unless my math was wrong.-á I'm not sure how things work now but no they say caldari get hybrid rail and gal get hybrid blaster. Clearly it's been done for balance reasons but it's incorrect. The gallente bonus should apply to all hybrid weapons including rails and the caldari bonus should apply to all hybrids including blasters if the devs were following the lore in new Eden. As far as I know currently shanghai is not following the proper lore or making the bonuses apply as they should. I haven't played in a while so correct me if I'm wrong. -á So while dust may claim rails are caldari it is a departure from how things are established in the parent game eve and is therefore technically incorrect lol. there are some places where dust gets things wrong. I should have said more in a spiritual sense, Caldari will always be part gallente so everything they accomplish is also a gallente accomplishment as well. :p-á Also on the tech standpoint railguns and blasters are basically the same thing even in their descriptions. one shoots plasma using magnets and the other shoots a slug using magnets. if the caldari used the blaster tech to develop railguns or just adapted pre existing gallente railguns to have more range and such they would still be gallente in origin. I was being to broad to say everything ever but as far as railguns go it's always gonna have a basis in gallente design and gallente ships apply bonuses to rails so they're just as much gal weapons as caldari weapons if not more so.-á It's wrong to say all technology the caldari ever make will be gallentean but -áon the railgun standpoint yeah it will.
