I will put 20 million ISK on the line to the person who can stand in a fire fight while holding a point against 3-4 other people non militia or starter fits and not die, gun cannot overheat, all attackers must be killed, and you can only use an MH-82. It is not possible. I try feathering the trigger, controlled burst,but since the HMG's damage was reduced a tanked suit will absorb the abuse. The HMG overheats to easily and then your stuck trying to bunny hop away. What is the point of having a heavy as point defense if you cant do your job because the HMG overheats to easily. My HMG skills are maxed to 5, there is nothing I can do to improve it.
I know the HMG was nerfed do to the overwhelming scout population and that is why I now understand why heavies have given up the HMG and went with a CR, RR, or other light weapon. You can keep the damage where it is if CCP would just adjust the overheat maybe by 15-20% is all I am asking. Then we can adjust it if need be.
Try to prove me wrong I have the ISK and it cannot be corp mates or friends that attack. It has to be an actual battle where you are holding the point against an enemy team as at least 3-4 rush you. Before this HMG debacle I was able to hold a point, now I might take 2 with me before my gun jams due to bunny hopping scouts, tanked suits, and the occasional heavy.

By the replies it just goes to show how many trolls there are. I know how long I have before I overheat its the fact it is to short. Also the stupid get good remark shows lack of an imagination, time come up with something original. I have been playing this game for over 2 years and I have to deal with the heavy HMG debacle almost as long.
If you say your not supposed to kill 4 in a row then what is the point of having a heavy in the game in the first place. COD players have ruined this game. Look up the definition of what a heavy was and should be. It is supposed to be point defense and also there to give an AV role if need be.
In Beta I remember clearly and most closed beta vets will tell you this. A heavy was able to hold a point and stop an LAV in tracks. The heavy was reduced to what it is by crying scouts and other players who did not understand the role of the heavy. The heavy was meant to be point defense so it allowed other team members to capture other points while you held your point. That is why the heavy is slow for it supposed to make it up in firepower. No other game that I know of reduces a Gatling gun to a role below a SG or other light weapon.

My point is, it needs to get it's range nerfed a bit, it's supposed to be a close-quarters massacre machine.
I would take range reduction if you give me more fire power and a lower heat build up.

I love how everyone's comment is to say scrub. Its not about controlling your fire, oh who gives ah F*** this is scout514 and unless your talking about making the cloak last longer or the SG having the range of an AR no one listens.

More fire power??? :O You already instapop everything with the highest DPS among all !!! Optimal should be 15m for such an incredible fire power.
That is not true insta pop. I have fired an HMG within 15M of a scouts face and they walked through it and SG and I went down. Its the SG that has to much firepower. Your telling me you rather have a cloaked scout ram a SG into your back than take on a heavy?

Thank you for that sensible answer. I do not have a problem with reload or clip size, It is the fact when your holding a point and get rushed. You take down the first 2-3 then your gun seizes up and your dead.

Many of them under the 'no heavy weapons' excuse, but really how many would still use rifles if we had all racial weapons, especially the longer ranged weapons.

I run commando and I like the role. I have both Gal and Armarr in commando. Now if they would add another high slot at proto that would be awesome. I run RR sniper combo or AR CR combo and find them to very fun. Why I ask for another high slot is so I can add a shield extender to my damage mod. It would feel balanced.
