I asked IWS this a couple weeks ago, but he said it was too early to tell. Now that it's close to the deploy date, there shouldn't be any harm in saying, should there? So how long have you been working on 1.9? Since Charlie? Before Alpha? When was the decision made to work on a client update?  Thx o7

It was not actually a whole ton of time. We knew about a month prior to the dev blog, I want to say, but I'm not positive on the timeline.

I'm mistrustful of anybody who has more forum likes than in-game kills, particularly IWS, who has almost 3x more likes than kills...

for me its the fact hes cpm0 which everyone involved in should be bannished.
also the first time i saw him talk about assault suits he was trying to say they shouldnt have tank bonuses despite the fact thats how h-assault cruisers are in eve.
he was giving that bs versatility standpoint.
i stopped taking him seriously once he showed he didnt understand what the suits should be.

When did they first start working on 1.9? Probably just before 1.8. Some of the maps for 1.9 have been in development for a long time, they were pulled from 1.8 due to "performance issues". The pretty vague "optimizations" that CCP promises in 1.9 have probably been cooking for several patches now.
How long have they been actively working on 1.9? With the NPC market and the work involved in making that function... 60 - 90 days.

Lights = Regenerative focus
Assaults = Lesser Tank Penalties, Logis Better fitting and effect of off mainstream mods (ferroscale ect.)
Sentinels = EHP through resists , Commandos EHP through Buffer

absolutely wrong.
lol at logis being better at ferroscales than an ASSAULT suit.
its a high damage high tank suit.
just like the HAC from eve.
dps, tank, and speed. thats an assault suit.
a logi should never fit a better tank of anything from an assault suit. its job is not combat its support.
its focus should be on equipment and helping other units.
this is the assault suit equivlant in eve.
notice the good base stats, abundance of slots for an ever better tank on top of the stats and resistances.
then you got a mix of tanking and dps along with the role bonus for the microwarpdrive which would give them speed.

i think we can see a trend of that mix i was talking about. also like the zealot the first one i mentioned theyres a few others that focus on just the weapons and the speed aspect.
notice they even share the word assault.
assault suit and heavyassault cruiser.
a logi should not have better tanking anything over an assault suit. opinions like iws are where you get catastrophes like slayerlogis.
also your completely ignoring the races in the suits.
why would an amarr light suit focus on regeneration? its an amarr suit. that means buffer.
so is the amarr light in your opinion supposed to regenerate fast? or have the proper racial fitting of a buffer/hp tank contradicting what you say?

Since they started working on Legion, its all legion progress. So id say a year and a bit.
