I made a Corp for myself just so I could get out of the one I was in and stop paying taxes to people who aren't even around anymore. In the last 3 months, I think there was someone on my Corp chat twice. This is playing for 2-3 hours 2 or 3 days a week.
I've been paying 5% tax for the last 6 plus months, haven't seen 1 ISK back in my bank account, and don't know who or what it was actually funding. Even at 10,000 ISK every match (I'm lowballing to make the math easy), that is only about 200 matches total for what I just paid for my own corp. I know I've ran WAY more than 200 matches in 6 months. So now going forward every penny is staying with me.
It is just frustrating I couldn't find a corp that I really meshed with (seems everyone wanted Mics for squadding and, when squadded, got upset when I had to bail). With a 3 month old, who knows when I'm going to have to bolt out of a match and I don't want to screw my squadmates, especially my corpmates, so I solo 99% of the time. When I do want to squad, I can jump on Learning Coalition or Dev Hangout. there are always people in both of those places.
Long story leads to a question. What is the wierdest/dumbest/most ridiculous thing you've done with your ISK in this game (besides giving it to Jadek in one of his schemes, that doesn't count. You deserve it. )

Oh and Jadek's Financial services are genuine. He doubled all the ISK I ever sent him.
That last part was partially in Jest. I've never "taken advantage" of his services but have heard enough stories I couldn't pass it up.
But yeah, I hear you. I joined because my original corp folded and needed somewhere to go. At first it was pretty good and there were people around to squad with. Then, like nothing, it all just dried up.

WHEN WILL THEY LEARN! WHEN DAMMIT!
It wasn't so much a learning thing with me. It was not wanting to shell out the ISK for it. I've been looking for a corp actively for about 2 months now and finally just said screw it, I'm making my own. I just did it today and it was money well spent, already. It was refreshing knowing that everything I earned was going to me, not someone else.

I went into the corporation section of the menu and couldn't find any options where it said "leave corp". I've never seen anybody in matches I've played that did not have a corp, so I assumed you had to be aligned with one.

It was Knights of the Round. Honestly, I don't really think it was a swindling or anything like that. Everyone just stopped playing. There hasn't been a post here in the forums on our corp section since July.

Simply find your name in the Corp roster, select it & you should get the option to leave Corp. Leaving corp puts you in an NPC corp with 11% tax - so better off making your own. 11% NPC Corp tax?!?! I haven't been in a NPC corp since closed beta. So I won't argue with you.
Yeah, it's been a LONG time. I know the new NPC corps when you first start are 0%, but I'm going to take your word for it. Thanks for putting the word out for people.

Do you guys have a pub chat? Since I just started this Corp today, I'm not interested in joining, but I wouldn't mind jumping into comms and squadding up with people. That is all corps are really good for anyways is finding squads.
On that note, anyone else have a pub chat channel they'd be willing to share so I can join the chat channel at least?

Oh and Jadek's Financial services are genuine. He doubled all the ISK I ever sent him. why would you join a corp if you would never squad with them.?????
Mine was change of circumstance. I used to squad with them, then baby came and I started running solo. Some people just like to have that tag alongside their name. Some maybe plan to squad but just never get around it. Maybe they join a corp and realize it is a bunch of jerkwads. Some corps just don't run squads. I can see multiple reasons why.

Apothecary Za'ki wrote:i remember corp creation being 1million isk.. but didnt they lower it to 25k isk or something? its been a while since i made my own corp "Biomass Positive" so i dont recall the price
It was just under 2 million, like 1.9xxxxxxx Million. So I did the easy thing and rounded up. I think once you start the corp, to level up it is lower if you want more people, but the actual startup is still fairly expensive
