I'm Caldari and would love to play as nothing but my race but some of their bonuses are just flat out useless , the Sentinel and the Logistic to name a few but these are the roles that I play .
I can live with the Cal Commando because it's my favorite suit , I can snipe and run rails and swarms on that suit ... yeah it's not like the Min but it still gets the job done and then some .
I'm leaning towards going full Amarr and I just wouldn't feel right in doing so but I had fun playing with a Amarr alt that I made a while ago but I'm trying to be loyal and represent my race .
I just don't know what to do .
If the Cal Sent had a better bonus like laser and projectile shield resistance and the Cal Logi had anything but nanohives ( I don't use them unless I snipe ( Cal Commando ) or swarm , which I use a Min Commando for so that's practically useless to me ) it would work for me but I like the attributes of the Min Logi better .
I just get tired of cross specking and having skill points everywhere , I'm trying to build myself and make the most of what I have and get the most out of what I use as well .
I might just say " screw it " and just go full Amarr but I know I will feel wrong in doing so .
It would be nice if the Caldari had better bonuses , the only ones that are good are the scout ( I don't scout ) and the Commando , every other bonus to the other suits just leave them wanting and underperforming IMO .
1.9 is going to be great but it's just leaving me torn .

I would rather have a rep tool and needles , instead of laying equipment that would get destroyed from moving from one battle scene to another or just underappreciated .
I guess I just don't like that bonus .

Otherwise, become a 'true merc' and just mix it all up! A mercs only true loyalty belongs to ISK, which follows the highest bidder.
That makes sense but I just get tired of cross specking but I might just play with the races and roles that I feel would complete my game but I would love to go full racial and just represent my race .
You do have a point though , if it ain't broke .. don't fix it .
Edit : I started out as a Minmatar so I can associate with them more then any other , I just like the business aspect of being Caldari .
Those suits while meeting with the board are killer .

It is okay that we do this because they don't make better soldiers. You should only buy domestic goods if you want to be a true Caldari patriot. Our economy is geared for war. I really appreciate all of the suggestions and advice that all of you give .
Like I said , it's just a hard decision to make and I feel like going the route of multiple suits that perform in a way that highlight my strengths .. so I might just continue to cross speck , as much as I'm going to hate to .
I would love to play full racial Caldari but it's just not practical .
I like Amarr and Gal Sentinels .
I like Min Logi , Commandos and Assaults .
I don't scout so that's not a problem but I had fun playing with Amarr Assaults .
I might just listen to all of you and just mix it up .

Just shield tank the everliving sh*t out of it. Don't waste fitting space on damage mods. I don't know about that , most of the heavy hitters have their HMG's maxed out and use pro damage mods , it just seems to me that shields are weak .. yes they have that recharge time and all but I get two swiped with NK's and Two shotted with SG's when I use that , I thought that NK ( other then on a Min ) wouldn't be that effective against that suit with plasma resistance and all but I just die too fast in that suit .
People just started to pick up the plasma rifle and now I'm starting to see more players use lasers but most use RR's and CR's but maybe after 1.9 that will change but against a Amarr and Gal Sent that suit doesn't stand a chance for the most part .
I have to use damage mods and I use chargers as well as reactive plates , it just seem that HMG's knock the shields down fast as well as shotgun blasts and as a heavy , that's what most face .
Besides CR's and RR's .
You might be able to out DPS most but if you don't last long enough to administer that DPS , what good is it and you can't run for cover because most heavies when they see a Cal sent they charge ahead and if your facing two or three your screwed , in a Gal sent I've faced and beat two sents before and killed up to five in a row before , just don't think that's happening in a Cal sent .

bro... armor based sentinels WISH they had enough SP and patience to do what you are doing. suck it up and adapt. there are plenty of ways to wreck face with Cal Sent. some of the best players in the game use that suit I wanna believe that but most of the sents that I see wreaking use either Amarr or Gal , I use to see Cal's but not too much anymore besides forging , I guess that's " working as intended " .
Maybe it's because I didn't have that suit at pro and just adv , that could be the problem .?. or it could be that while using that suit with a HMG , you better have back up ... like two or three heavies with you with a Logi .

That's what I'm trying to avoid , I think that most who do use that option will use it as such and not like a " bail out " but it's something that's good to have . I just don't believe that you will see too many who use that more then twice and while it's something that nice to know that one can do , it won't be done much by most .
Most wanted to have that to fix problems and mistakes , not to keep making mistakes just because you understand that's something that can be done now . Plus with the ISK hit I just can't see too many doing that more then twice but I could be wrong , it's been known to happen .
It's kinda funny but with this option I think that most will be more cautious not to keep going back to the respec button .

It's kinda hard to ignore those bonuses sometimes because they do have an impact in some form or another .
If your forging or swarming , using an HMG and being a force and effective while doing so , picking up a sniper rifle and doing the most damage in the least amount of shots as to not give away your position , laying spawns and having the max effect with them or being a good medic .
All the things that I do ( or try to ) so to me it's kinda hard to forget about bonuses sometimes .

Recovery rate is much better and you can re-engage faster from cover. Sentinels are roughly equal if to kit them right and use smart tactics.
Use the burst HMG on the minsent. Sustained duration combat with the normal HMG setup is critical for calsent. Damage mods add too little to TTK to be worth the investment.
Calsent is easily a solid choice and works well in the same role as other suits. The calsent resist at 5 reduces laserbastards to 108% efficacy from 120 before proficiency is added in.
It reduces plasma below 100.
Shotguns kill everyone no matter how bricked you are. RE and NK are always OHK on all sentinels.
Using a regulator in your low slot means all you need to start punching out about 65-70 shield regen/sec is .65 seconds of not getting shot. See and I never have used a reg on that suit because I like self reps and a little tank but what you say sounds good , if I had that suit at PRO then my opinion of it might just be like yours because I would understand better .
I know I love to forge and to me that is the best suit to do it in .

I know that people just don't like it but it does help and bring an extra dynamic to the game , also it keeps the prospective weapon from needing a buff / nerf from outside forces throwing off the numbers and giving misleading data making it seems that something is wrong with the weapon from performance numbers , I like the fact that they had the " balls " to do that .... weapons are in a right place now and it's thanks to their courage and foresight and not the willingness to cave in to community pressure .
I'm still going to use PRO mods come 1.9 , I don't have any now because I haven't specked into them .
To me they are useful for heavy , light and sidearm weapons .

This would benefit Amarr and Cal logis greatly. I like the Amarr Logi and part of the reason I would speck into them is because I lay spawns and that bonus would help greatly , I can switch suits ( still in a Amarr ) to logi and still keep that spawn bonus ( if that's correct ??? ) so I love that effect .
Cal on the other hand , you jump from advance to pro and gain 3 slots ( 2 high and one low ) and to me , that throws the suit off ... couple that with the lame nano bonus and it's unappealing to me , I forgot about the limited CPU which crushes that suit even more .
Slayer logi episode just killed that suit and it seemed that CCP was trying to " stay safe " with how they handled the Cal logi but they just crippled that suit IMO .
They should know by now that people will complain no matter what and they should have balanced off that suit instead of worrying about the feedback from the community . I rarely see a Cal logi and that's because that suit in other then PRO is worthless and that nano bonus is just " half @$$ed " .

I for one would love to play Cal logi and just might anyway because I just don't see too many of them and that's what I like , so that's attractive to me but that suit just has too many setbacks that more then outweigh the advantages .

They are perfect counterweights to each other .

I'm not trying to discredit what you said but this sentence just sums up the Logistic role in a nutshell and is just so true .
It is the most underappreciated role by far .
Edit : It's part of what makes that role so attractive to me .
