So I rarely buy boosters *EDIT* (I bought one, and that was for the Million Clone challenge, so I don't now how they work in "normal" weeks), so my answer to this thread is based on 1 question. To those people who are triple stacking boosters, does that mean they will simply reach the 750k cap 3 times faster, or does it mean they will get 3x the total SP for the week?
If it is simply reaching the cap quicker, I can handle 750k. I won't ever reach it but it isn't totally extreme. However, if someone can triple stack and pull in 2.25 MILLION SP a week? Nope, too much. WAY too much.

Seriously? 2.2 Million a week? People are going to going from 0-proto every other week in a new suit. I don't ever come close to capping out now. With this formula, a brand new, fresh merc out of the academy, if s/he is willing to pay some money, will catch and surpass me in total SP in under 3 months (I'm at about 21 million SP right now). This is the definition of pay to win. I've had to grind for a year and a 1/2 (I did take a hiatus in the middle and I have other obligations outside this game) to get to that point. Someone can walk in, throw some cash around, and surpass me in total SP in 1/6th the time simply because they are willing to pay? If this is the case, why have a cap at all? Let people stack 5 Omega Boosters with no cap and let people hit 10 million a week. Or 20 Million a week. At what point WILL it be too much for you?

Let people stack 5 Omega Boosters with no cap and let people hit 10 million a week. Or 20 Million a week. At what point WILL it be too much for you? Let's see. This char has 39 mil sp My alt has 24 mil sp My tanker has 18 mil sp Iv spent -ú1000+ to hoard isk and run isk less proto fits for over the almost 2 years now. Im not mad that players can catch up. They won't reach anything I can't do or gain anything unobtainable. They can pay to skip the grind for all I care. They cannot reach some magical op level and we can also earn more than the cap at something like x3 the rate. You yourself can earn the pre 1.9 cap x3 faster as well. Anyway, you didn't actually state why its too much, you just gave me your selfish opinion.
And you are absolutely entitled to your opinion and if you feel that way, bravo. I just feel it is going to throw everything even MORE out of balance. Who is usually on top of the boards at the end of the match? Vets. Which means they will get more SP then they used to. Which is going to create an even LARGER gap between the casual and hardcore, new player and veteran. Honestly, no one but Vets have a realistic snowball's chance in hell of coming close to capping out (newer players will rage quit well before they even come close once they are out of the battle academy. I just see this as becoming another case of "the rich get richer"

1.Fair play but we didn't seem to have a problem with keeping millions of sp from beta now did we?, oh no.
2.What is this almost obsession or utmost important attitude with capping out?, I really don't get it.
3.Why are people behaving like the game is ruined partly because they don't have the time to cap out?. Its really not that important and if you are a vet, then you should care the least about it because you've got sp.
4.You are aware that you yourself will ve able to earn sp at something like x3 the rate now right?, sp costs aren't going up either. Nothing is actually going to change except that newbs can get up to our Kevel or if they put in the time, then they could get ahead. If they want to pay out the arse and support the game in doing so, then good stuff right?.
5.If they get ahead, how does that actually have a detrimental effect on you other than less stomping and more challenge?.
*Numbered for clarity in answering, hope you don't mind* First and foremost, that entire comment is a fair opinion and makes a lot of sense. Now to answer the questions...
1. Yes, I was an open player Vet for like the last month or so before it actually "went live". So I think I had like 1.5 million or so SP by that time. I will admit I was O.K. with keeping it, but wouldn't have minded if they had stated a reset of SP.
2. As for capping out, I've never gotten the obsession either. I've done it once the entire time I've played (the last Million Clone Challege. Like I said, I never come even close so it is something I don't worry about.
3. Same as #2. However, like I said, I'm only on about 21 million total, so I'm not as loaded as some people are.
4. Yep, I completely understand that and I'm not going to complain when I start banking 7500-10k SP in a match without a booster. I have a couple things I'm working on right now and that additional SP is going to come in extremely handy. As for paying out the arse, I see what you're saying there as well. It's not my wallet, so why should I care. Something along those lines?
5. You don't know me very well. I'm not a stomper by any means. In fact I'm probably the furthest thing from a stomper their is. I have a sub 1.0 KDR, regularly get my butt handed to me in 1 vs. 1 engagements, and if I wasn't running Logi suits and dropping uplinks/nanohives I would probably never even be in the top 1/2 of WP's in any match I play. LOL
All that said, and looking at your comments, I'm starting to agree with you. That is one of the most logical explanations I've seen as to the positives of the cap increase. What the hell is happening here? A forum discussion that is actually changing an opinion? Say it ain't so.

What the hell is happening here? A forum discussion that is actually changing an opinion? Say it ain't so. Fair play yeah. I usually do nothing but joke about, but I'm seeing so much glass is half empty that I feel I need to actually get serious on this one. You are right with your opinion but I promise you that overall, you'll end up liking its benefits and you won't notice anything different except better quality fights. Even if the newbs get proto in say a month, maybe a bit more, it will simply be double the fun a gunfight. Sure thing we had to grind to fk and even pay for uvts just to chat in channels at one point as well, but this decision will undoubtedly give the game longevity and in that, we get to play it longer.
One thing that definitely can't hurt is the possible increase to the player base. If more people are playing, that is going to limit the times someone runs into the same proto-stomping squad 5-6-8 matches in a row. I am all for longevity because once this game goes dark or to Legion, I'm done. I don't have the cash to shell out $1500 on a gaming computer.
