Let's get some roles on the battlefield down with strengths and weaknesses.
Gallente: Gallente specialize in CQC high alpha damage and suppressive fire none of there weapons reach out at range as well as any other races. They breach rooms and push points in short bursts while there powerful repair systems keep there armor topped off. However there short range plasma carbines keep them limited in open terrain engagement but excell at hip fire and maximum damage and suppressive fire per magazine, while maintaining high accuracy and minimum recoil.
caldari: are the long range masters with high velocity missiles and magnetically accelerated hypersonic rail rounds. They hold points and keep the enemy at range relying on powerful shielding to duck behind cover, regenerate and continue firing. There weapons dominate open terrain areas digging into hillsides and ditches, with nanohives underfoot. The kick originates from the heavy barrel itself and when not tightly held to the shoulder can become excessive and uncontrollable with extended fire. The weapons kick and vibrating feedback often make it essential to become very well acquainted with the weapons nuances before being able to use it in shorter ranges.
minmitar: minmitar use the least advanced weaponry with fragmentation shell launchers and gas operated bulpup submachine gun type rifles. best used in sudden ambushes with the higher ground there slower weapons require predictive thinking to kill targets. There weapons exceed at hit and run with fast reload and there suits augmented for short bursts of quick speed combined with the hybridized shield armor ratio makes them akin to a rattlesnake. Easily heard but fast and instantly lethal, a good clubin' can stop the creatures nonsense with extended fire or being caught off guard.
Amarr: made to counter the minmatard aggressive tactics amarr weapons excell in accuracy and hitting targets running in and out of cover. There marksman type scrambler laser weapons are the most common variant of laser seen on the battlefield. With potent 1 hit ability and pinpoint damage there range can rival that of high grade caldari weapons. There weapons suffer on major drawback and that is the excessive heat buildup meaning only 1-2 targets can be engaged before the weapons reaches critical temperatures. In comparison 1/4 a charge from a scrambler rifle can toast bread perfectly, a full charge can turn a minmatar's face inside out. They excell at surrounding there targets and overwhelming them in the all consuming light there weapons create.

GET THIS CADALRI HERETIC INTO THE MINES! NOW!
Well it's pretty easy to tell which races I respect more by which ones names I capitalized...
Just because I am caldari by blood does not mean I support them, I would pay 20 bucks to change my profile in a second.
I was doing this to counter all the rail rifle pricks complaining. Sure I didn't want to go into detail but in general that is summing up the racial weapon strengths. And matching suit weaknesses. Try to make them understand they aren't always supposed to win in CQC with a rail weapon. But instead of just outlining rail weapons I did this trying to seem equal.
But **** it plasma can kick it's as at CQC now so I don't care.
sci-fi has numbed The word plasma. It's 1-3 billion*F superheated ionized gas that behaves like a floating liquid.

Just "spouting" my POV on how the weapons should fall into place. And sorry about not knowing anything. it's not my fault I guess closed beta imprinted my mind on the use of racial weapons... I try to immerse myself in the shallow pool of Eve's story from the dust side. It's not exactly my fault there is no backstory of any sort on the dust side.
Even a tid bit of racial backstory, maybe little booklets you could buy off the marketplace for a small fee no read about different races, there tactics, and there weapon damage types, vehicles, maps etc. Once again I am sorry about feeling uninformed by dust's poor presentation of races and weapons.
