Okay so CCP stated around a year ago that they will NOT BE DOING ANY MORE REPSECS.
People whined and they were rightfully ignored. People continued to whine, and they were ignored. Legion is announced and CCP decided to get every cash grab they can from DUST. With the return of the BPOs which they also said would not be coming back (though that was SLIGHTLY justified).
Now, I literally don't know what to believe if CCP makes any more statements about their games because they are showing that they will actively just change everything they said so fast.
This respec now means that whatever is considered the best will be played in almost EVERY game you play in DUST. Imagine this, situation:
This feature was available last patch. How many scouts would you see with the max possible stats? There would be WAY more and they would be stronger.
No more reasons to commit to your choices because now you can just change your mind if you fork over -ú-ú-ú.
Thay guy that specced in Plasma rifle that loved his weapon? Now corps will expect you to respec to the best just to be competitive.
CPP clearly stated there would be no more respecs and for good reason. People will soon see why this move is a terrible idea and how you will have no variation in DUST anymore with everyone respeccing to the flavour of the month.
I would have agreed with this if it was a ONE time purchase to allow people to fix mistakes.
My prediction:
Now that this feature is in place, CCP will continue to rebalance the flavour of the month to get as many people to buy respecs as possible.
I hope I am being over cynical about all of this but my suggestion is to change this feature to a ONE time purchase to at least keep the "choices have meaning" part of this game alive. |

It does hurt the game though. It affects the people you have to play against all using the same suit that is best for the current patch. No variation at all. |

A year from a companies standpoint is not that long to change your mind. |

Either way, not much can be done about it now. On we go to the rest of 1.9 which is actually really really good. |

Not my fault if you don't take advantage of that and the way things are right now , there is no FOTM so what's the beef ??? Is it that people came together and made a sound decision that will help the development and those clamoring for a respec in the same stroke of the pen ? I just don't get why are you against this other then you don't want the increased competition . Who's fault is that ???
Because some people like me have spend over -ú200 on this game and really can't afford to spend more just to keep up :) I am sure others are in similar positions ;)

Because some people like me have spend over -ú200 on this game and really can't afford to spend more just to keep up :) I am sure others are in similar positions ;) I am too bro and I spend but not like I did before or around 1.7 but it's all the same and I'm like a lot and that's cash strapped but you know what , I'm willing to divert some of that so I can stop feeling slighted , stop feeling like I'm missing out because I've been at this game in the wrong way and that's trying to combat FOTM because I became gullible in listening to the forums instead of focusing on what I felt was important , realigning my SP's will fix that and change the whole environment for me and how I approach this game . I'm sure there are those of us like you who are cash strapped and those like me who approached this totally wrong but you know what , I think CCP will take price into consideration and this will help solve both of our problems . Complain about this but do you still spend money on BPO's , boosters and such ..?. , if so then you have no gripes .
Never bought AUR on this char, but I will be doing so for boosters. But that doesn't mean they are right, it means I feel I need to. I don't mind some pay purchases but I do at least feel the respecs should have a much higher penalty than a few mil isk. |
