It would be wise to.
Currently ps4 users are starved for good games. For example:after playing Blacklight retribution on the ps4,i kept coming back to Dust 514 on the ps3. It feels more full, and not just a hollow shell like retribution did.
Currently ps4 has several F2P titles: -DCUO (super heros) -War thunder (realistic war vehicles) -Blacklight retribution (generic TDM game) -War frame (an ugly team game)
And that's it... Most people playing those games are only doing so because they have no other options.
If Dust were to transfer to ps4 while it's still relatively new,it would snatch many of those players away from their competition. Probably for keeps.
And could gain a potentially ravenous following via the built in streaming available through ps4. Dust would generate a satisfaction through difficulty that those other games simply couldn't compete with.

While that sounds like a good idea for Dust 514 this is about Legion not Dust 514. >legion is Dust 514
Lol wut? CCP has a contractual agreement with the name Dust 514 attached. Project legion is a name that has no such obligation,it's a legal work around.
legion is Dust and Dust is legion, using semantics won't change the obvious.

(since a pc game has to be optimized for alot of differ set ups, a ps4 level machine will fit in that margin, so ditch the it wont work its not powerful enough argument because thats all bloix)
legion on pc if it reaches a playable state for the general populous, they will probably start looking to put it on ps4, but they have to have a reasonable amount of content before releasing it since even with sonys improved updated system its still slower to push an update to a ps4 version then it will be to the pc version.
you have to consider that any content in legion pc would take awhile to get to the ps4 witch would either mean they started slowing pc updates (bad idea) or have a second team porting the updates to ps4 in there own time. (people will complain) in other words it makes the most sense for them to simply wait till legion is well established and then look at porting it to another system.
So in short, buy a gaming pc and get cheep steam games to pass the time. See, AGAIN people missing the whole point...Legion, if it happens, its NOT your typical game, its a game designed for YEARS AND YEARS to come. A game that is SET INSIDE the EVE universe, where there is DIRECT connection between the TWO. They are running on the SAME server, in REAL-TIME. Things happening in Legion will directly affect the EVE universe, and vice verse. How can you ask for it to come out on the PS4? And I'm glad you mentioned this whole update thing. How can they keep the two games running together? How can they upgrade the game in 5 years from now to over-haul the graphics for example. Or go for new tech with maybe a new engine?? How can they keep the people at that time who have become a part of that universe on the same page? How can they've battles going on with people playing on the PS4 and PC at the same time without issues? This kinda game simply CAN NOT be multi-platform. When they came up with Dust, why didn't they just release it for the PC as-well?? Why did they make it exclusive to ONE platform? Maybe they can release a watered down version of it for the PS4 with ZERO connection to EVE. So say what Dust 514 is right now with no planetary conquest stuff. But that's as far as it could go. Legion / EVE are not like Planetside 2 for example where everything is instanced, and things can happen multiple times on different server with different people. We are talking one huge server carrying all the action of the two games. Everything there exists sort of like real life. Blacklight retribution was on PC first, but ported to Ps4.
With only minimal differences, each platform having something uniqe the other didn't.
Just saying...
Maybe the console would have 100% fps action while the PC would have tactical negotiating.
Ps4 = pure FPS PC = FPS EVE hybrid, with an emphasis on industry to keep the Ps4 war machine going.

Project legion is a name that has no such obligation,it's a legal work around. legion is Dust and Dust is legion, using semantics won't change the obvious. True they are the same idea with different names ( MMO-FPS Sandbox in New Eden and interactive with EVE players) but they are not going to be the same games. So when I say Dust 514 I'm talking about the lobby shooter that CCP has made on the ps3 that will stay as a lobby shooter and possibly port to the ps4. When I'm talking about Legion I'm talking about a game that's going or is suppose to be everything that Dust 514 was supposed to be but on PC.... and possibly ps4 but I'm kind of thinking it would be best development wise to stick with the PC. Well, the main problem with sticking to PC i that they'll be double dipping their chip. This F2P game could potentially draw players away from EVE,new or old.
CCP will then have 2 products that are in direct competition with each other. Effectively halving possible monitary gains. By it being on another platform it prevents this and attracts new players (that have never heard of EVE or CCP,such as myself)
PC eliteism could destroy CCP,saying only so many can have access. While putting it on consoles they can advertise for EVE,like Dust has,and get new subscribers, like Dust has given.
It might be inconvenient to the 'pc master race' but it seems to be the best way to make more money.

SuperMido wrote:I don't wanna be rude, but there are some people on here who are just plain DUMB. @DeadlyAztec11....You really didn't read my post, did you?? I know that Dust and EVE are already on the same server, and battles have been done with players on the two sides. But DIFFERENT games....I'm talking if Legion is on both the PC anf PS4, how can you've a battle with players on the 2 platforms?????? Playing the same game that is...And lets say they accomplish that, how can people compete playing against others on PCs with 3 and 4 times more power?? How are updates going to be synced between the 2 platforms??...And more and more....
@Meee One....What is Black Light to even mention on here?????......Black Light is just a lame game with no persistant universe, NOTHING! So of course they can have it on more than one platform. I even mentioned Planetside, just for the sake of that kinda argument. But still, people are too DUMB....And as for having 2 versions of Legion like you said. Please, they're struggling to even get one out. Lol.
Come on people, before u post, just think. And do your research, try to understand what EVE is, and what the concept of Dust 514 was. And what CCP is planning to accomplish with Legion if it happens....Please.. Whether you want to admit it or not. CCP can make zounds of cash from console players.
Consider this... Console players know the console they are purchasing will be replaced outright in the future, yet they slap 400 + currency down for one each and every time. Plus 50-60 for games. +DLC And no modding means they can only buy what's offered.
While PC users must simply replace a single old part at a time, making them more cost effective. And modding means they have free options, see skyrim.
Console players are simply more willing to part with their monies.
Now,if you were a company going for profit. Which would you target? Money hose console players. Or thrifty PC players?
Obvious answer is obvious.
