Give all equipment a base hack time of 5 seconds. This would make reduce equipment spam and encourage more people to use codebreakers. Thoughts?

Or failing that increase the wp to 25-50 for destroying it... Think about the consequence of filling a small room with equipment... one flux gets the enemy team well on their way to a fresh Barrage!

edit-but being able to quickly hack a remote explosive would be useful for those that don't like blowing up their silly bloobs...

This may only encourage equipment spam on towers though.

I would rather my equipment be destroyed, unless they have a screen message on there so I can leave an RE around

Hacking has been proposed prior, I'm actually in favor of it however it needs some limitation on scale such as "can hack opposed equipment of an equal or lessor meta level than the codebreaker equipped"

With this requirement it gives more motive to run complex codebreakers and to have hacking leveled to 5, at which point the basic hack time could be slightly longer than 5 seconds because the actual hack time would still be short.

We could even scale the hack time based on meta level, or have 'hardened' types which take longer to hack, or both.

 No.

People would attempt this and it would not stop equipment spam, rather than have people try to hack drop uplinks and be killed from anyone spawned from there.

No one will waste five seconds to hack spammed equipment rather than waste less seconds destroying them all in the first place, either.

Speak for yourself. I would love to run around in the pocket on the Cargo Hub hacking uplinks in my MinScout suit.

A similar effect is achieved with the proposal to make deployed equipment granular. While it does not literally allow you to require deployed gear (and thus requires much less overhead in dev time) it breaks down each deployed portion into smaller "bites" allowing the user more direct discretion over where and how much of the total deployed assets are used.

In essence, when you deploy (for example) nanohives in smaller quantities per drop you have vastly reduced need to pick them up because they are likely to be fully consumed at the time you deploy them. (Feel free to ask questions if my explanation is unclear)
