Looks good, medium-short to short range fighter. That SMG rips scouts before they get to you, and the shotgun gives you a chance against heavies.

Not a bad fit, I don't think. Scout suits will eat it for lunch, and it would be much more effective with the speed and EWAR of a scout and the stealth of a cloak, IMO. |

The only time I died to an SG Scout was when I wasn't moving. I had given him enough time to close the distance and perform surprise butt sex on me from behind. However, while in full sprint and with very little wait times in between bursts, I've managed to tank most initial SG hits and fire back with a few shots of my own.
The 700+ ehp and sprint speed really help in avoiding OHKOs from cloaked CQC Scouts. If I keep running, I'm perfectly fine. However, having no cloak nor eWar modules leaves me open to anyone with a rifle who spots me from a distance. I have to run for dear life and hope I'm not tracked as I wait for my shields and armor to come back--which do so relatively fast.
One other point is that most pub Scouts are slow. I don't know why, but they just are. I can only assume that they're lacking in Biotics and Kinetic Catalyzation, or that brick and eWar tanking is holding them back from slapping on some KinCats of their own.
In all, this is just a cheap fun fit. I could run my Scout ck.0/gk.0 fits that have similar speed and eHP, but they wouldn't be as fun to use. |

You're sacrificing damage on an ADV suit with complex mods?
Meh
Would be okay if you were rich. You'd be better off using a combat rifle.
I may be missing something, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't call for a tank nerf before Uprising 1.7. - Atiim

Good point. Staying moving will be a good counter to most scouts in pubs. Of course, any suit if caught in the open will be susceptible to rifles.
That said, at higher levels of competition (PC, for example, but even some FW these days), you'll get chewed up and spit out in the Min Assault suit. You will have no answer for either fast moving scouts or heavies -- which is all you're likely to face in PC.
But it should be just fine for most pub matches. |

I'm going to tell you a story of long ago. Back in the day, Scout and Shotgun was an OP combo. Not like now when little bitches complain about scouts, cloaks, and shotguns like some petulant child that thinks if anything kills them it needs to be nerfed, but actually one of the biggest threats around.
The shotgun itself was a terrifying thing. Right now, it has an Optimal Range of 5m, by 10m it is only doing 10% damage efficacy while also dealing with dispersion. IIRC the Optimal didn't change but back then the falloff was not very steep and was doing 50% damage up to 12m away. Aim Assist or Aim Adhesion, those things didn't exist back then. Hit detection barely worked. Kinetic Catalyzers were broken. They were so broken, instead of changing sprint speed, they increased speed of everything like Rate of Fire and Strafe Speed. Then there was this mystifying and demanding skill called "Sharpshooter." It extended the range on all your weapons in that category by 5% per level.
The Scout suit also had a higher base movement speed then, plus KinCat chicanery, plus no aim assist (which was the best part of that era) and bad hit detection (which wasn't fixed into well into Uprising). Add in light weapon sharpshooter and they were doing 50% efficacy out to 18m (About 100 damage a shot from efficacy and pellet dispersion, back when Heavys almost never had more than 1000 total HP)
This **** was so crazy the devs had to add "slowdown on hit" to the HMG and nerfed the Scout's base movement speed. Welcome to Chromosome. Some guys got really famous during this period and during Open Beta when Chromosome was moved onto TQ server. One such name was Dengru. He was a well know shotgunner.
Uprising 1.0 comes along, they take out light weapon sharpshooter, nerf scout base movement again, stifle shotgun's falloff damage, fix the KinCat bug. But there are all these new suits. Our main character thought that Min-Ass was the way to go. I ran into him the first few patches of Uprising, heard he was good, and always left thinking "what a scrub." He continued to be a scrub for several patches. He had the skills, but he was trying to shotgun in MinAss suit and it just wasn't a good enough combo to get the job done (Reminder, until 1.4, profile dampeners didn't do ****. Shared team Line of Sight radar existed) He couldn't do what a scout could do with the shotgun. Things changed around 1.6/1.7 when he got enough SP after filling out the core stuff and got a new suit. And he was a good player, able to get lots of kills in pubs the whole time too, but the MinAss w/ Shotgun just didn't work out in the PC level as well as a Scout suit
On the Other Hand, we have a kid named DJINN Marauder. For Chromosome he was a well known Heavy. In Uprising he switched to shotgun-scout. He was one of the best shotgun scouts in the game until he got the PS4 and Warframe. Then he started to suck and was only the bottom half of like top 10 or top 15 in the game. But before he got the PS4, he started playing with a shotgun on the Amarr Assault suit.
Dude, Amarr Assault is a way better suit for shotgunning. Marauder showed me the light! Assault A/1-Series is definitely the best medium frame for using the shotgun. You run in, don't worry about the bullets, and bulldoze your way through a crowd with the alpha damage.
But, if you want to stick with the MinAss, I don't know how tight you are on PG, but if CPU is an issue downgrade the Recharger to ADV and see if you can fit the K-5 Specialist Shotgun. The ADV has a tighter spread than the STD and even though it is small the ADV has just enough damage to finish off some ADV suits in 1 less shot than the STD (Don';t use PRO Shotgun, not enough difference in damage over the ADV)

Nope. Better fit would be 2x damps+ kin cat or 1x damp 2x kin cats, each with a compact hive for armor rep. Put 2x shields and an energizer in your highs and you're golden. BrSMG FTW
"Minmitar Scout" and "Masochist" are synonyms.

my favorite fit, 10hp/s 800 armor, 300 shields. I never do worse than a 5.0 KDR in this suit, but I stick to running ambush and only when in the city maps.

Second favorite Medium Frame shotgun. 900 armor 300 shields. I go like 3.0 KDR or better, I both die more and I kill more than the Gallente version.
By the way, eHP means Effective Hit Points. EHP is variable

Don't really see the point of complex recharger/energizers on min assault. The difference is marginal and you could use enhanced energizer, you'd still have decent shield recharge rate, plus the extra CPU to fit better modules in other slots..The shield penalty from an enhanced energizer is negligible too.
Otherwise i think you'll be ok(scouts are still shotgun kings)...the KIN Cats are awesome on min suits. You can get the heck out of dodge with that speed. I've flat out-ran some pub scouts too....
