So I haven't been following the dropsuit armor repair thread much so I don't know if that's a thing or if this has been suggested yet, but I thought I'd give my .02 ISK on the subject.
A small native armor repair to all vehicles would be greatly appreciated. Nothing much, I'm not too good with numbers anyway (perhaps like 15/20 and 45/50hp/s for shield LAVs to armor HAVs respectively, everything else just sprinkled in between there).
It follows the same logic that you're considering for the dropsuits, and also includes that: 1) you really can't viably fit an armor repair on, say, a Python, 2) logistics in the forms of repair tools and hives are virtually or totally nonexistent, and 3) there isn't always a safe supply depot available to recover lost hp.

Wait why?
Put in a repper if you need armour regen. If I wanted it on my HAV that's what I'd have to do. If that Worm pilot who destroyed me a couple of days ago wanted armour reps he could have put on an armour repper... he didn't and had to limp back to station as a flaming wreck even after tearing my ship to pieces.
I'm basically at this point begging CCP now not to make my HAV that much more powerful.

I know they're in the same universe and share not only lore but game mechanics, but somethings are different. Logistics, capacitor, EWAR, shield regen/mechanics, hardeners, damage profiles, etc.
I'm also just following Rattati's logic on this. If they're considering doing this for dropsuits, then it makes since that for the same reasons (and more, as I've pointed out), this should come to vehicles.
There can also be a small change to armor repairs to compensate. Since this is mainly to buff shield vehicles, armor vehicles shouldn't benefit too much.

But why do you need it.
If you wanted to Armour tank you should have gotten an Armour Tanking Vehicle, but instead you shield tanked a hull designed to be shield tanked.
You know as well as I do that if we Shield Vehicle users were to get this buff all we'd have to do.....ever if shields were broken and we did not insta die is just drive away (not even to a supply depot, just to the redline) and be healed by the time we got back.
Given that Shield vehicles are already arguably the best vehicle variants......... WHY do we need this?

I don't really need to justify this since the other thread is basically doing this for dropsuits. If it's alright for them I fail to see how it'd be much less acceptable for vehicles. I'm just asking for continuity.
Actually, according to the data Rattati has posted, shield vehicles in general are struggling to be as effective as armor vehicles (especially the Myron and Saga, both would really benefit from this buff. The Gunnlogi also has lower stats overall, last I checked). I know I do alright and assume you do alright, but personal experience/bias shouldn't get in the way of the numbers.
Shield regen will obviously be low, though the rate may seem high since we have much less armor (1950 / 35 is greater than +4000 / 50). It's not much different than if we just flew/drove back to a supply depot anyway (except that it would take much longer and there's not always a supply depot available).

Vulpes Dolosus wrote:A small native armor repair to all vehicles would be greatly appreciated. I thought the same when while commenting on the other thread but decided not to open a strawman-discussion. Discussing this in a different thread seems reasonable though.
If the thread about innate infantry suit repairs is where Dust is headed then this is a logical consequence. "Stuff repairs itself if you don't mess with it". Installations do, infantry suits do and vehicles of course also do. If you want faster reps you have to equip a module. That apparently is the future logic of Dust.
I disagree on you about the numbers though. The numbers being discussed in the infantry thread are about the level of a basic repper. So for light vehicles this would be about 25 hp/s for Gallente and ~15 hp/s for Caldari. For heavy vehicles we're looking at a native regen of 80 hp/s for Gallente and 40 hp/s for Caldari. |

More than native armour repair, I would like to see Reactive Plates for vehicles A module to add a small buff to Armour along with some minor Armour repair.
