The colour of the blue trails weren't hugely dissimilar to the rail effects that we have today, but the models were distinctly Gallente and they were tagged 'GA'. The way in which they functioned (high RoF) also felt much more Gallente. Mobius brought this up earlier in DFG, you should be reading that chat. 
Fine however it almost directly contradicts how I believe HAV turrets should work. Sure high Alpha is great but ) AoE is not right.
You should never fire a cannon the size of a building at something and have it fizzle out like and damp candle. Hell even Forges have solid looking impacts.
